Switched to safari and now I can't tell which is my active tab - dull color is killing me

May be I am ocd here but does anyone have a good suggestion to highlight and differentiate the active tab vs inactive ones? I am on Tahoe if that makes any difference.

First Day post fire - what I did and what have you done?

Woke up at 5:40 am instead of 5 am, thats a win.

Not a single worry about work or to check email

Made a latte instead of opening laptop to reply to overnight emails or prep for 8am call.

Updated Monthly budgeting spreadsheet and then monthly investment tracker.

Will take it easy for the rest of the day and will watch a ton of sports.

Planning international travel and booking flights for the first time

Planning to go to SEA for two months and planning the trip and the pricing is confusing me.

Everywhere I read they suggest multi-leg is the cheapest. But when pricing from USA to Paris (stay 5 nights) and then to SEA and then a return to USA after 2 months, each one way is at least 40% cheaper than multi-city pricing.

I an now wondering if there is any gotcha's that I am not seeing as I never traveled before. Always a round trip and if any leg of the flight got delayed airlines would rebook.

Any suggestions or points I am missing in booking one way each leg is very much appreciated.

ACA vs AZ medicaid - when will we shunted to medicaid instead of ACA?

Retiring soon and will apply for ACA and this year I have higher wages. But starting next year, I will try to keep the MAGI around 150% of FPL.

Seen some posts about retirees kids shunted to medicaid vs keeping in ACA and wondering what would cause this and how to avoid it?

Is AZ Medicaid that bad? any insights?

Kids in schools and now I am retired. how does no income effect FAFSA?

I am let go on the job in under 20 days and both kids are in school.

We didnt get any grants but only scholarships for both kids based on their scores and grades.

Now that my future income will be either 0 or some where around 30k (family of 4), how does FAFSA help in securing some aid for both kids?

Avoid SORR by paying off mortgage - is this a good strategy?

I know it is exceptionally dumb to payoff my mortgage which is 1.9% loan and balance is only 140k while monthly payment (PITI) is less than $1600.

But paying off the loan means the need to draw less from the market during bad times.

What are some of your thoughts?

Edited to add more details below

Low yearly expenses with mortgage - 40 to 50k max If I pay off mortgage then I have to do Roth conversions on top of SEPP to qualify for ACA else I will fall into state medicaid (not good)

Oci update for new us passport - what a misery to pay, where and how?

Seemed easy in creating an application on https://ociservices.gov.in/ but then the pain starts.

Got an auto email to pay to VFS global since the passport was issued more than 90 days ago.

The two links they send in the email doesnt work, vfs global doesnt recognize the new government application id to create an application to pay the fee.

Like catch 22 - no place to pay to update the passport no on the existing OCI.

Anyone went thru this process and have a magic bullet to fix this?

Please share...

Fire'd people - have you moved your 401k to rollover IRA?

Getting my ducks in a row for T-29 days to join the Fired people.

Leave 401k in Fidelity in employer sponsored account or move to a new Rollover IRA is my question.

US citizens moving to other countries - which brokerage is the one with minimal issues?

Reading a lot of posts and some say Fidelity will make an issue if you do not have local address and sometimes needs VPN. Vanguard seems to be the best and Schwab comes in close 2nd.

What are your recent experiences while logging in or locked out due to not in the country?

Those who took SEPP (72t), what documentation you save and send to IRS each year?

I am planning to call it quits this year after 29 yrs of working. Ran numbers and 72t is the way I am going.

I know brokerage will code it as early withdrawal on 1099-r and its our responsibility to file 5239 and maintain proper SEPP withdrawal to avoid 10% penalty retroactive. Those you are on SEPP and are filing taxes each year, what is your go to documentation? Did you do SEPP yourself or went thru CPA?
