The condensation trail left by this plane is PERFECTLY parallel to this horizontal thing on the train’s overhead wires

I was taking the train in Switzerland when I saw this.

The end of the stairway where I work

Decided to go all the way up (I’ve been working here for over a year and I’ve never been here)

They opened the emergency door at the cinema and it’s still daytime outside

I usually assume that it’s already dark outside when I’m in the movie theater… Then, a guy opened the emergency door and I saw sunlight come in, which blew my mind a tiny bit.

It’s also true that, here in Italy, days are very long right now (the sun sets at 9.06 PM).

This mall in Italy where I watched The Odyssey yesterday

Cool movie, cool mall (felt quite empty though – the movie theater seemed like the only reason people went there)

Milarepa 9-story tower in 合作 Hezuo, 甘肃 Gansu

Very peculiar building in Hezuo, Gansu. It was first built in 1777 but the original structure was demolished during the Cultural Revolution. A faithful reconstruction (the one in the video) was built between 1988 and 1992.

Dad’s old house in Zhejiang countryside (demolished)

This is my dad’s former house, demolished in 2023. It was the last of its kind left in the village – all the other houses had been replaced by taller brick buildings (see on both sides). Since my dad moved abroad in the 80s and left that house there, it was never replaced. People in the village started complaining about it, so in 2023 my dad went back and oversaw its demolition. I saw the video of the house coming down, and it was so sad to watch.

In the second picture, you can see old newspapers used as wallpaper. They probably have historical value but, unfortunately, it’s all lost now.

Saudi flags being flown around during Saudi National Day 2025

Here are some pictures I took during Saudi National Day (Sept 23, 2025). Everybody was flying the national flag!

Interesting things I noticed: You all know that the Saudi flag cannot touch the ground / be treated disrespectfully because of the presence of the Islamic statement of faith. However, during Saudi National Day, a lot of these flags that were being flown around would naturally fall from moving cars. In the middle of the highway. And other cars would just drive on them!!

Then, later that night, I noticed kids wearing green inflatable costumes and playing around. At a closer inspection, I noticed that they were actually wearing the flag… People were selling the flag in inflatable-costume format!!
