Should i apply for my new “titre de sejour” before or after moving?

Hello all, i currently hold “talent chercheur” sejour valid till January 2027, i will be signing a contract with a company and i would qualify for “talent salarié qualifié”
If i am not wrong the procedure would be a “changement de status” towards the new title.

However the company will be in a different region (grenoble) and i am based in maine-et-loire currently, so i should be moving asap, but moving and finding an apartment in the new region would take some time.

I am wondering if i should apply for the new status asap from my current address and then move, this way there is no delays caused by moving that could take like weeks, or if i should move first and then apply after.

My concern is about losing any valuable time before getting the new title, but i am worried that might cause issues if there is a conflict between my current address and the address at the company which is very far.

Any experience regarding this or help is appreciated 🙏

Avis sur mon CV, difficulté à décrocher des entretiens

Hello everyone,

I'm posting here to get some feedback on my CV, which I've just updated (content and design).

I have a PhD in Electrical Engineering, specializing in energy conversion and automation.

Despite this, I'm having a lot of trouble getting interviews, even for positions that seem to match my profile.

I get the impression that having a PhD is sometimes seen as a hindrance (is my profile considered too academic or overqualified?), especially since I don't have any other European degrees besides this one.I would therefore welcome any feedback on:

  1. clarity and readability of the CV

  2. relevance of the experiences/projects highlighted

  3. positioning (industry vs. research?)

  4. any potential "red flags" for recruiters

  5. advice on how to better showcase a PhD candidate's profile in industry

  6. If any of you work in the fields of power electronics, energy, or automation, your feedback would be particularly valuable. Thank you very much for your help 🙏

Been job hunting for many months and zero success

26M, moved to France in 2022. Finished my PhD in Electrical Engineering this January (worked on EV battery/storage systems + power electronics). I’ve also got about 4 years of experience overall.

I’ve been applying for jobs since July and I’m probably close to 1000 applications by now (mostly LinkedIn + APEC). Tried messaging people, connections, all that — nothing really worked.

Only started getting a few interviews/calls around April, maybe like 4–5 total. None of them went anywhere. Either I get ghosted after interviews, or rejected with no explanation, or I literally see the same job reposted again later.
I’ve reworked my CV multiple times, tried to make it less academic and more industry-focused, highlighted projects, results, etc. I’m open to relocating anywhere in France/Europe, and I speak French fluently.

I’m not from the EU, but from what I understand I should qualify for the “talent salarié qualifié” permit, so work authorization shouldn’t be a huge issue.
Honestly I don’t get it anymore. If the market is that bad, why are there so many job postings every day? After this many applications it just starts to feel pointless.
Has anyone been through something similar here? Not sure what else to try at this point.
