Mapping question

Mapping question

I mapped and mowed area 1 yesterday. Created a channel between area 1 and area 2 this morning then the channel between area 2 and area 3 then mapped area 3. All went well but when I finished area 3, which was the last thing I need to do for my law. It wants me to map another channel...I think. The mower currently sits in the most recent mapped area. If I try to go back it says my settings won't be saved.

Is it thinking I want to map another area? But I can back out and it will save area 2 and 3 and the channels? Or do I need to map a channel back to the charging base? I assumed it would follow the already created channels so I don't think that's it. I'm just trying to not lose what I already mapped. What do I do next?

Help choosing a paddle

I've done quite a bit of searching on this and still don't feel like I know what I need to make the best decision.

The wife and I bought a couple of cheap kayaks (quest outlands) when they were on sale at dicks recently. I did some research on paddles and found an aqua bound hybrid manta ray on sale on Amazon for $160. It arrived in nothing but a plastic bag with holes in it and had some Knicks in the shaft and a long shallow scratch on one of the blades. Still I took it out for a 2 hour mostly slow river trip. It was fine, I could keep it and probably be happy. But I'm not sure how much the high angle nature of the paddle is affecting me as opposed to something like the sting ray.

So more research and now I'm seeing the werner camano highly recommended and it's on sale right now for $279 which is probably getting close to the max I'm willing to spend. Is it worth the upgrade over the aqua bound manta/sting ray? Are all the camanos partial carbon and fiberglass shafts? And that's ok compared to all carbon? It is a little lighter than the manta ray.

A few other points. I'm short, 5'0 and my yak is wide at 31". I believe the calculators say I should get a 230CM paddle which is what my manta ray is. I did notice I was hitting the boat on occasion but maybe that's just poor form. Does 230cm seem right for me?

The main river I plan to kayak on is mostly slow with a few higher current spots but perhaps more importantly it's shallow in some spots. If we haven't gotten much rain, in some spots it's shallow enough for the kayak to hit bottom so there is definitely the possibility the paddle could end up hitting some rocks if I'm not careful.

Should I just stick with the cheaper dinged up hybrid manta ray? Go for the werner camano at the top of my price range? Or something else?

Power went out last night, PSU is ticking now

We had a power outage last night, I have a computer that is plugged into a UPS and the computer was still running during the power outage. Unfortunately I apparently neglected to connect a monitor to the UPS so I wasn't able to shut down through windows, instead I held the power button on the computer till it shut off.

Turned it on this morning and now its making a light fast ticking noise. I would attribute it to the fan hitting very lightly on something but it doesn't seem to change if I put any pressure on the PSU. What does seem to make it change is any ramp up/down of my other fans in the computer.

PSU is a Corsair RMx SHIFT Series RM850x. I'm thinking I'll just replace it, but wondering if there is anything else I should try first? Could it be something other than the fan?

And if I do replace it has anyone had any experience with amazon renewed PSU's. I kind of want to replace it with the same model or a similar corsair that uses the same cables so I don't have to reconnect everything in the computer. The renewed version would save me $60. But I'm willing to spend the full $140 if the renewed one is a bad idea. Thanks!

Is a robot lawn mower, mostly like Yuka mini 2 1000, worth it for me?

I know only I can answer this question but I feel like I need some help from experienced users to figure it out. Somehow the luba 3 started popping up in my youtube and I liked the way it looked and what most people had to say about it. When they went on sale for prime day I was really interested and started doing more research, which often left me with more questions.

Info about my lawn:

I currently pay $45 a week for someone to mow my lawn and do the edging. I do this because I am lazy and don't like to mow myself. Take that to read my time is worth the $45 a week. Although that number keeps going up and I am not sure at what point it won't be worth it any more.

Lot is 0.212 acres or 9240 square feet. How I believe takes up about 1700, maybe another idk 400+ for the driveway and another 240ish for the back patio. So almost definitely under 7000sqft of mowable area. Live in central OH if that means anything. No idea what type of grass I got, maybe fescure or KBG or a mix idk.

Back yard is fenced which will present more work in either physically moving the mower or opening the gate or setting up an automated doggy door. There is one tree in the backyard and a small firepit which we don't use and could probably get rid of. Oddly it sits right under the tree, was here when we bought the place. There may be the occasional other obstacle near the house like the AC unit, hose hider thing, etc. But for the most part pretty easy I think.

Front yard is even easier, all pretty flat, backyard is fairly flat too, with just driveway and sidewalks and a small patio next to the porch. Oh I did forget I do have the gas meter and also 4 of those curved metal things that go around my basement windows.

So all in all I think a pretty easy lawn thats not too big. I was still considering the luba 3 3000 just cause I figured a bigger battery would last me longer. Main reasons I am on the fence with the luba 3 3000 now are:

  • Cost - I can afford it and it would pay for itself in a couple of years but its still expensive
  • Potential theft - decent neighborhood but stupid people are everywhere
  • Amazon not allowing returns and it sounds like mammotion will deny them if it isn't in brand new condition. Only reasons I could think to return it would all be because it doesn't work right for me. I do have some wifi reach concerns I need to look into and our cell coverage is terrible out here so 4G wouldn't help.

Then I stumbled on the Yuka 2 mini at about half the price. I think it looks stupid compared to the luba 3 but whatever. Smaller battery, smaller maximum yard to cut but still works for mine, only 1 blade disc although not sure how much of a negative this is. Is the yuka just as good at the luba with the exception of the dual cutting disc and AWD on the luba? I don't think my yard will present any challenges that require the awd. While for sure I would only start with 1, I could get 2 for the cost of the luba 3 and have one for front and 1 for back yard and eliminate the need to help it go back and forth. Until such time as I decide to purchase a 2nd, 1 being half the cost means it pays for itself even soon and while losing $1200 is still a big deal its better than someone stealing a $2400 unit.

I tried to find it, but has anyone done true cost to own over like 5 years. I know the newer models haven't been around long enough for that. I know the blades aren't too expensive and can be rotated, but I need to understand how many hours it will take to mow my yard and how many days a week i should have it mow to really figure out blade cost. Are there other wear and tear parts that need replaced? I know it may need a new battery in what 2, 3, 5+ years?

Are there other questions I should be asking or concerns I need to look into? I plan to use a wifi analyzer to see what kind of signal I get at the far ends of my property. While I don't have any other mower I do have a string trimmer. Don't love having to go back to doing that myself, but its probably not that bad or I can pay a neighborhood kid a few bucks to do it for me. Oh other concerns what do you do when you go on vacation? Do you let it run un-babysat? Unless I get a doggy door or have someone come let it into the front yard I wouldn't be able to do that. What else do i need to consider? And just thoughts in general on luba 3 vs yuka 2 mini (or 2x yuka 2 mini) and just thoughts on the yuka 2 mini itself would be appreciated. I will keep doing my research but was hoping to ask the experts and get it all in one place. Thanks!
