A concept I have been working on...

I was kind of against wanting to share what I did, since I know it's an eye-roll lately to see the 58th rebrand idea of the week. But since it's the offseason, I wanted to reach a broader audience and get real Wizards fans' thoughts on this concept I did on PC, since I know a small minority of fans who use my mod in the game.

I've been using the Wizards team in the game since January, and decided to give them a rebrand since I like using the team and developing the young core.

To keep it simple in-game, I took the Utah route and "modernized" the team's identity from the late 90s-early 00s. I didn't want to entirely bring back the old branding and uniforms as is, since some would say it looked a bit "cartoonish". I tried to sharpen the identity and avoid making it look corporate and soulless (I'll leave that for you all to judge).

I contemplated reverting back to the color scheme from the 2000s, since every other team uses the same color palette. But I tried to stay realistic since the Wizards owner has the team share the same branding as the Capitals and Nationals.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions on these. I thought it would be cool to see pen get put to paper and show a good visual as to what the team would look like if a rebrand was to happen.

New(?) Devilcorp in Noblesville, IN - Surge Inc.

This is a bit of a follow-up from u/AppointmentInside287's post after I found out about Maverick Solutions seemingly ending operations. I don't know how and why they are gone, but it should of happened sooner.

I visited the office on Friday since it's like a 5 minute drive from where I live. The entrance was locked, so I couldn't get in and see if the office and everything in it was there.

The next best option for me was go on LinkedIn and find the owner. Lo and behold, I see that the Maverick LinkedIn page, along with the Instragram account, was taken down (I can still view it through the Wayback Machine lol).

The next day, I went back and saw that the owner had updated her LinkedIn page to include a new occupation as a Location Manager at Surge Inc.

After some digging, I discovered that Surge is another devilcorp, based in Denver, CO, that may have recently opened a new office in Indiana. I went on their website and it had the same layout as the Maverick Solutions website.

Even their Google reviews are vague and probably made by current employers to boost their ratings.

I tried to locate the company in Indiana, but the only Surge company appearing on Maps was the one in Denver. The only other way was to put in an application under a fake name (Tim) since I would have to eventually "meet" them at the office.

I actually followed through on making an application under a fake name and got an email from the recruiter on Monday.

\"Yes, I will be able to attend an in-person interview in COLORADO for a job at an office in INDIANA.\"(wtf?)

Funny enough, the recruiter had worked with the owner at Maverick Solutions.

Posing in front of toys I doubt they ever gave out to kids during their seasonal \"toy drive\" (c. 2023)

Thanks to the email, I now know where the office is at. I haven't responded to the email, but after reading through it, I am tempted to.

Probably not, realistically, since I would have to create a fake resume. And after starting an actual job, hearing about Maverick folding is like a bittersweet ending after all the shit they did.

TL;DR: to anyone in the Noblesville area in Indiana, beware of Surge, Inc.

Spotted a devilcorp I used to work for

So there is this Kroger's I usually shop at that is near a UPS Store in my area. I bring up the UPS Store because that is where I was last stationed doing devilcorp work back in November - standing outside at a table and collecting "donations" for suicide prevention.

Every so often, I drive past the store, remembering the last day before I was fired (I don't want to joke about having PTSD from the whole experience, but everytime I see the store, I think of the devilcorp). I joked that they would eventually come back around, as they always return to a certain spot after while.

On Tuesday, to my surprise, it actually happened.

I was quick enough to not drive past the store, as the leader out in the field probably still recognize my car. I parked afar and observed them at the table. I knew they would be at the store all week, so I went back home right as they were about to "work the territory" and thought of what to do to disrupt their operations while they were in close proximity for the week.

Later that night, I came back with a note warning the UPS Store about the table and placed it in their mailbox. I also came back with a fanny pack I still had from the devilcorp with a note and a card inside (the paper next to the card in the image says SCAM ARTIST). I clipped it to a lightpole near the store, where the leader's car would usually be parked near.

I came back on Thursday to find the fanny pack gone, so they must of saw it and read what was in it.

Is this too far? Is there an ethical way of disprupting them? I conveniently had the time to waste this week, and wanted to think quick of how to get back at the office for all the BS that went on.
