Can I eat this?

So I’m on day 10 of recovery. For the past couple of days I’ve been able to eat more and more. Eggs, oatmeal, grits, mashed potatoes, even a little rice, etc. My scabs are coming off nicely and I have very little pain, though I still can’t talk quite yet. Swallowing is mostly uncomfortable. My aunt cooked today and of course I can’t eat most of anything. I didn’t even go to her house because I’m still pretty tired but my mom did and she said that there’s cabbage and mastaccioli there. The cabbage I know I can eat. It’ll be soft enough. The pasta is what I’m worried about. I hear a lot of stories about tomatoes and I’m wondering if I’m at the point where eating them won’t have that big of an impact. So what do you guys think? Should I partake? I’m honestly just so hungry for some real food. Anything besides breakfast and apple sauce.

Where am I actually on my recovery timeline ? Because I’m hearing different things…

I had surgery 06/25 at 9am. It’s is now 07/02. I was counting my first recovery day as the day of surgery since the procedure was before 12. So in that case I would be on day 8. But others don’t take that into account at all and in that case I would be on day 7. So which one is it? I know it doesn’t matter that much and everyone’s recovery is different but it’s just something I wanted to know.

Mucus is making me lose my mind

I’m day 5 post op. Haven’t had ANY dairy whatsoever. Honestly can hardly eat with the meds making me nauseous. So I’ve been drinking cold/room temp water and eating popsicles all day but the mucus is gonna drive me insane. It builds up so quickly and it makes my breath stink so much worse than it already does. It’s actually hellish. I brush my teeth twice a day still if I can, no mouthwash of course. And yet, my breath still smells like budonk-adonk. It’s so irritating. And then on top of that it’s hard to swallow. And I can fell when it doesn’t go all the way down. So I’ve been trying to spit it out but it’s like once some of it is gone, a bunch just shows up in its place. Any tips or tricks to combat this?

So I threw up…

I feel like a kid going to tell mommy I threw up again. I’m on day 4 (It’s 5 am) and honestly the actual throwing up was the worst part of this whole process. I can get through the pain of swallowing and the dizziness from the oxy. But THAT WAS HELL. My nausea patch ran out yesterday and I ordered some OTC ones off of Amazon that won’t be here until this evening. Lucky for me I didn’t seem to bleed much afterwards but everything I ate (or attempted to eat) is now literally down the drain. So yeah, watch what you guys are eating and make sure if there’s a strong narcotics in your routine then you can at as best as possible. Because simply eating alongside taking the meds clearly wasn’t enough for me. Here’s to hoping I’ll feel better soon!

When should I wean off of strong meds

I was prescribed Oxycodone, Tylenol, and Ibuprofen. Oxycodone every 4 hours (which I have been doing faithfully and consistently) and Tylenol every 6-ish hours. Haven’t taken any Ibuprofen only because it backs me up and can mess with your kidneys and stuff.

I’m trying to eat a without hurting myself, even though swallowing is hellish. My question is, what day should I start weaning myself off and then sticking to OTC meds? I have one refill after the liquid oxy is gone and the surgeon nor the nurse told me when exactly to stop. It might be a dumb question but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask. Any advice?

Can I still take my walks? If so, how many days post op should I wait.

I had my surgery around 9 this morning. They gave me oxy and I’ve been taking it every 4 hours with some kids Tylenol every 6 hours. Been sleeping all day pretty much. I had 2 popsicles (one at hospital and one at home) been drinking water, and now I’m eating some chicken and rice soup (don’t worry it’s very liquid-y). Overall pain level is a 4/10 (5/10 discomfort when I swallow).

I know this is the calm before the storm but I’m determined to keep eating through recovery. I gained a lot of muscle in the gym and I would hate to lose a bunch of progress. That may seem a little unimportant but staying acting is very important to me. I also try to run a mile at least 3-4 times a week on regular weeks. I know I’m not going running anytime soon but how long do yall think it’ll take before I’m able to walk my route? I’m honestly dying for some fresh air rn. So how long do you guys think I should wait before trying to ease back into my routine?

Getting a tonsillectomy at 20 😭 Will it affect my voice?

Have any actors had this procedure before? How did it affect your voice? Did it affect it at all? How long did it take you to recover? And how long would you suggest to wait before trying to get back to singing and acting rehearsals again. Tbh I’m kinda terrified because I know the recovery for this surgery is hellish. But I wanna still be able to follow through with acting and singing at least a week and a half after surgery. Anyone had this experience before or is it just me?

Fishing in Milwaukee

What are some spots around Milwaukee or in the MKE area where I can catch some nice sized fish? I’ve fished around before but only ever caught little bluegill or tiny yellow trout. I’m ready for the big guns 😭

So my organization wants to put on our own Cinderella story musical. It would be completely different from Disney and we would use the original as inspiration. I just want to make sure there wouldn’t be any legal backlash from it, even though brothers Grimm stories are public domain. Maybe it’s a stupid question but I thought to ask anyways
