Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan looks insane on plasma. Panasonic TH-42PX75U. Blu-ray on PS3 via Component Video

HD Retrovision Component Video at 480i. As PS3 does not run HD over Component Video, and hasn’t for over 10 years. If I had more than one set of Component Video cables I could connect my Sony BDP-S480. I’ll actually connect my PS3, S480, and Dish Joey 3 via HDMI once I get an HDMI Switch.

Holy shit, this looks insane. Hellraiser II, DVD via PS3 over Component Video.

One of the HDMI ports doesn’t work and my PC is priority until I get an HDMI switch. Still, 480i with no upscaling and it looks insane! Using a VESA stand with swivel.

Got my first Panasonic plasma. TH-42PX75U

Played some War Thunder and now watching Star Trek First Contact. It’s nuts this is only a 480p movie and it doesn’t look like it’s 480p. I used to have an LG 60PV250, but this has far better PQ. I also have my PS3 connected. The PS3 only has 30 days on it last time I used the PS3 Tool Kit. I bought it and it was new old stock. Unused.

My library got the official SD Blu-ray of Fist of the North Star via purchase request.

As I suspected, Discotek Media did a 5Mbps AVC master to fit on 1 50GB DL disc.

New master author of Sailor Moon. 50GB Dual Layer SD Blu-ray. 31 episodes on one disc.

MakeMKV backup of all of Season 1, removed the fake HD BS, cut the pillar boxes off, uncompressed Japanese DTS HD MA converted to uncompressed LPCM Japanese audio, burned in the PGS subtitles, and fit 31 episodes at 6Mbps AVC using TMPGEnc Authoring Works 7 and burned via ImgBurn. Over 12 hours of content.

One of the most emotional reveals in the OG Dragon Ball

Running true 4:3 DVD’s via a Panasonic DMP-BD80 and Sanyo HT32546 over Component Video.

Dragon Ball Z self authored SD Blu-ray (SD on BD).

Dragon Box backups converted to SD on Blu-ray. Self authored with TMPGEnc Authoring Works 7. Even found the actual playback information. Panasonic DMP-BD80 on Sanyo HT32546 over Component Video. Video taken on iPhone 14 Pro Max via Blackmagic Cam app. 29.97 FPS, 1/60th shutter speed.

First successful SD Blu-ray self master

Used MakeMKV to make backups of my own Sailor Moon Blu-ray’s, then used Handbrake to cut the pillar boxes off and scale to 480p, then used TMPGEnc Authoring Works 7 to properly create the Blu-ray author, then used ImgBurn to create an ISO then burned the ISO onto the disc. Playing it on a Panasonic BMP-BD80 and Sanyo HT32546. This is just on a Shadow Mask set and already looks this good. So I could only imagine it on a Sony Trinitron KV-35XBR48, KV-32FS120, or even a KV-32FV310.
