The Mundo Matchup Fits The Lore Identity of the Madman

When you play against a “good” Mundo as Morde it truly feels like you are a trying your hardest and this crazy, insane purple monster just shrugs it off and then at 1 item or more becomes just completely OP.

You kill him once or something but it’s like it never happened.

It truly plays like a DBZ scenario where you are Vegeta trying your hardest and he’s some OP “take it easy, utterly psychotic, annoyingly cheerful” character like Majin Buu or Recoome.

The worst is when you all-in him and then he escapes with a drop of health and just regenerates while his jungler comes in and die… or god forbid his passive magically turns on near the exact second you R.

Mid to late game, NO ONE knows how to deal with him. Since you’re Morde, you probably don’t have a frontline.

Meanwhile, he either damage soaks to a win or keeps perma pushing to keep you at tower (you can’t dislodge him, if you 2-3 vs him it’s wasting time).

Feels like quite the miserable matchup.

Season 5 Episode 1 hits differently after the finale...

When you rewatch it, you realise that A-Train actually died for nothing.

Given HL's struggles against Butcher in the finale... had he stayed behind and fought HL along with Butcher and Starlight, they could have overpowered him.

It really undercuts his sacrifice because he was unintentionally killed because he Overestimated Homelander's ability to 1 vs 3. They could have just tag-teamed him right there. The Deep and Oh Father weren't even there.

Mordekaiser’s Champion Identity…

is to be a low-moderate effort cheat code to get to Platinum.

If you play 80-200 games of him, and you applied sound macro and didn’t lose your mind… you get Plat without fail. It’s statistically guaranteed. It doesn’t matter if you start Iron, Silver, Bronze or Gold… if you literally stay in the lane mostly, play disciplined, back timer push and freeze correctly, trade decently well, statistically the enemy is doomed.

At those elos, 1-5 of the ennemy team will not understand the very simple concept that dodging 1-2 Qs will mess up his AOE all ins. In teamfights either a bigger level number on his head, Morde plays like an immobile but completely OP AOE executioner. It’s like First Age full power Sauron slaughtering Gondor in battle.

His whole identity is… “I don’t want to bother with advanced mechanics, I just want to put on some Dark Lord armor and demolish noobs even though this might stop working at some higher elo”

Mordekaiser is busted in ARAM

I randomly got Mordekaiser ARAM and got 24/5/23 (not highly ranked or anything).

https://op.gg/lol/summoners/tw/Kaiser%20Fizz-8789

Is he generally considered busted in ARAM? All I did was play “safe” until Rylais and then he was literally 1 vs 5ing with limited team support.

It was insane. The AOE was just nuking everything and so long as you held W,Barriers and Ults for the right windows, the enemy was screwed.

Playing against fed Mordekaiser as Immobile Bot Lane Carry

Ideally, you position away from the character. But let’s say he Ulted you… then you need to realize which of these types of Ults it is based on your HP and his.

  1. *You have a lot more HP than him (he launched a Desperation Ult and is hoping you don’t realize it).* This one is easy. You stand your ground and fight. Still KITE (so he gets less damage on you, ideally missing a Q or E), CTR + A it out and you kill him. You don’t need to Flash defensively for anything since you win and can save it for when you come out of the Ult.

  2. *You are both at 100 percent HP.* He’s only got 7 seconds. Don’t AA because you’ll just take more hits, just maximize DODGE TIME (only sneak in a few AA if and should he miss Q otherwise, keep running around). Keep running and zigzagging, flash 1 Q if you need to; remember, you can walk past him too. IMAGINE you are the Morde, nor your character, and keep thinking “if I’m Morde, when am I going to press Q” and then you switch direction at those times. He will land some damage but probability wise, he won’t kill you if you moved Truly Randomly. When you get out of the Ult, he will likely not swing the fight if you lived (it was already won or lost).

  3. *He’s got WAY MORE HP than you.* Same as 2. In this case I would just focus on dodging alone, don’t even attack him. You want to waste as much of his 7 second Death Realm as possible and you’d be amazed at how often you live.

Also, when he Ults, look at the terrain of the Ult. If there is a wall you can flash behind at some critical annoying moment, factor it in. If there are bushes, use them.

TLDR, lots of low elo ADCs when they are Ulted go into a mindless Perma-Kite mode and then just die. When you are control-Aaing, it’s easy for Morde to smack you, a lot easier than if you just focused on running around like an over-excited Joker in a playground with part of your head thinking “if I’m Morde, when would I Q?”

As soon as more than 50 percent of low elo players figure this out, Riot will need to buff our champion.

How to shore up my top lane and mid lane?

So just by abusing enemy laning, champ familiarity and playing a Slow but Steady macro game, I can pilot Mordekaiser to Mid Gold-Low Plat every season.

The problem though is that LP is being “bled” by a secondary pool of champions that can’t perform on the same level. I can only get +50 percent winrate on Morde… no one else.

How do you “shore up” the games where Morde is banned, picked or you’re forced to play a secondary role? Or do you just dodge and play 12-24 hours later?

I don’t really want to go Morde Mid or JG; it would just feel too weird. So I’m looking for High Yield, High Consistency picks in Top and Mid.

I’m thinking Garen as secondary in Top, and then for Mid something like Aurelion Sol and Viktor.

Would it work? Or would the playstyle clash too much?

Low elo Ashe keeps getting dragged into messes

I’m temporarily stuck in S2-S3 spamming Ashe (after the initial +30 LP inflated MMR gains starting from Iron 4 wore off).

There is now a possibility that this could be the start of a massive LP Crash if I don’t “focus up.”

Mid to late game, my team will get into repeated, very questionable 3 vs 3-5s that seemed to get the ennemy team further and further ahead.

Meanwhile, I am guarding towers or pushing waves and they keep spamming question marks at me.

Am I in the wrong? Should I group up and ARAM?

Since Ashe can’t really “scale back into the game” as much as a Jinx, Smolder or Twitch can… should I instead run with the random mob?

I find that I have to guard/push waves on the side because past a certain point, my team stops doing it. The Top becomes perma grouped even though he should be guarding the left.

What do you think?

If Morde Ult was changed or nerfed…

What could he theoretically get that would be good compensation?

Would it be overall a Better Deal for his mains? Or with Riot in charge, would we lose out?

As a Morde Main, it’s less about what you know…

… and more about what your opponent knows.

Once your macro and micro is up to Gold/Plat level, it’s more about whether your opponents “understand.”

If they do, you are 100 percent screwed and will be forced to coin flip games on the back of your 4 other mates. You’ll still climb if you play steady but it won’t feel good because the champion’s fantasy will feel unfulfilled.

Mordekaiser scales way harder on your opponent’s game knowledge than on your own. Now compare that to champions like Ashe, Aatrox, Syndra etc where arguably, your knowledge and mechanical gaps can really shine through at all ranks.

You can play Morde at the same level with the same thought process, risk calculation and macro etc… and then purely on whether your opponents understand they just need to flash/sidestep 1 Q to screw your game-deciding all ins… you either become a 1 vs 3 raidboss or a trade 1 for 1 overglorified minion.

It’s kind of a frustrating design.

The Final White House Could Have Ended Even Worse…

It was only by the greatest of luck that HL was even given the opportunity to fight at all (given how Nerfed he was by the writers).

He was already struggling against Butcher.

If you A-Train and Starlight had also both been in the room (and it was very easily within the realm of possibilities except for plot contrivances), he would have just been one-sidedly STOMPED.

Homelander should have been a big scary final boss. Instead, he was only granted the courtesy of even a token fight due to plot contrivances that kept A-Train and Starlight out.

Ashe’s gameplay suits her lore

You play calmly, patiently and strategically.

You are more of a leader and a captain in the battlefield than a front line fighter (you have a valuable claim to rule the Freljord). Can you fight? Yes, you’re trained to and you know how but you don’t need to risk your life unnecessarily.

Sometimes the hawk shots, calculated volleys + stepping back and calculated long range arrows are what’s needed.

You don’t greed for damage stats, you focus on what’s needed to be done. Your mortality makes you a more grounded, focused player. You practice your kiting moves and in the fights that REALLY matter, you can show up and prevail.

You guide and lead the team. You are a force of calculated stability.

Now contrast this to characters like Garen, Mordekaiser, Leona (they go in and destroy, they are giant powerhouse hammers).

Ashe knows that there are many kinds of power.

Rengar and Darius target you 100 percent

Every single fight, Rengar went for me. Darius held Ghost just to run me down later.

My team can’t win any fights if I don’t AA because they are behind. They won’t peel either (there was an Ali but all he did was engage… he refused to save his headbutt to protect me).

Is it unwinnable?

How do I navigate this as Ashe?

Imagine if you can choose…

For The Boys, you can choose… It’s either this exact same ending, the one that aired… or one in which Homelander went Scorched Earth and ended up actually winning (a total subversion of the underdogs always win trope).

No ifs, no buts.

Hypothetically, if you had to choose between the two, and assuming the first 7 episodes of the season were the same, what’s better?

Which ending would be BETTER for the story’s limited cultural and pop culture legacy decades from now on?

Let me know.

Personally, I’d prefer a Scorched Earth ending.

The trick to climb G4-G3 in TW Server as Morde is…

Ban Aatrox.

At this elo, if you see him, it’s almost always a 1-2 million mastery main hardstuck on Macro (but godlike in mechanics).

You CAN cheese him early but he will, through better mind gaming and abusing non-existent cooldowns later, win the lane anyways!!!!

His diagonal and varied E+Q spamming (backed by W to extend the trade or disengage) is extremely toxic to face. You can mind game him all day but he does it for a living. It’s completely broken how he has close to no cooldowns.

Olaf, Vayne, Yorrick and Voli are tricky too but the proportion of million point 1 tricks in low elo is lower.

I started banning him and just by doing that gained over 100 LP.
