Why does she do this?

So my boss is in her early 60s. I'm in my early 50s. We normally joke and break into song during the day--the laugh so hard you cry type of thing.

So when anyone else comes around, coworkers, other supervisors--who ever--and I happen to start joking, or singing she makes a comment to embarrass me.

Just today, for example, I was at the copy machine just quietly singing to myself, minding my own business, and she walks up with another supervisor that NEITHER of us joke with and says to him, about me, "When she gets like this, I just let her go."

So, I tried (INSTEAD OF IGNORING HER like I should) to defend myself. I said, "You don't have to explain me."

She wouldn't let up, and said, "I CAN'T explain you, that's why I just let you go."

And her and this other supervisor have their laugh at my expense.

This shit happens waaay too much. Please be kind, and give me some advice, guys.

Sal's T-shirt

What T-shirt does Sal have on in the Liberty Science Center "Touch Tunnel" episode? It has what looks like a group of black guys talking to a guy on a park bench. Looks like it says something about apples on it. I might be wrong about the wording. Thanks, guys!

Anyone else going through something similar?

Sorry--this will be long. I (54f) have a brother who is 62 and still lives at home with our 83 year old mother. He refuses to get a driver's license. He's never had a girlfriend. She has coddled him his ENTIRE life.

He used to periodically show me his bank statements and brag about how much savings he had. I would say that I'd have a lot more money, too, if I didn't have to pay a mortgage, utilities, car insurance, etc.

My father passed away and my brother is her world more so, now, than ever. I CANNOT have a conversation with her without her IMMEDIATELY bringing up my brother and telling me the most mundane stories of his day to day existence.

She has signed the house over to him already. Not like it's a mansion, but you think you'd give all the kids a piece of the pie. Instead, he gets rewarded for never leaving home WITH that home.

Once I asked if I could move back home to save money. She said no because it would interfere with (Brother) getting ready for work in the mornings. Funny, my Dad said there'd always be a place for any of the kids at home . . .

Also, SHE continues to pay for things like lawn care, or cuts the grass herself. It's HIS house now and I said HE should be paying for everything. She laughs and says he's going to be the one who pays to have the apple tree trimmed because it's his. Seriously--I can't make this shit up.

She STILL drives him to work--rain, snow, day and night. He sees nothing wrong with this. Not embarrassed in the slightest!!!

If she needs help with her cell phone he tells her that he doesn't know anything about Android he only knows about Apple.

I told her in no uncertain terms, "He is LYING to you." (He just doesn't want to be bothered so he pretends not to know how to help). She just laughs awkwardly.

I don't mind helping but why can't the big baby EVER step up?!?!

What made me create this post is today she asked me to stop after work for a TracFone card. She said her stomach was upset and she didn't want to risk going out to get a card.

I said I would get her one, but after work it started to pour down rain so I called her and told her to just have my brother run in and grab a card when she picks him up from work which would be literally an hour and a half later. Let him step up for once!! Now, she's mad at me. But he tells her no all the time and that's just fine.

It ASTOUNDS me that she doesn't want to risk running to the store that's 2 minutes away due to an upset stomach, and cancelled plans to go to dinner with me because of her stomach, but she will pick him up from work, as usual, which takes about 30 MINUTES round trip, no problem.

There have been so many instances where she has turned down invitations to various events, etc., because, "I can't, I have to pick (Brother) up from work".

When my Dad was alive, my brother wouldn't "let" him watch what he wanted on tv in the living room. Because as my mom said, "(Brother) pays the cable bill, he should get to decide".

I need advice from those who have similar issues. Thanks for reading, guys 😔
