Toolbox on top of washer/dryer

I want to put this 42x21” US General top chest on this 52x28” butcher block on top of my laundry machines in the garage. Would replace my 42” roll cab to give me back some floor space and stop me from shimmying past my car to get to the toolbox. From my research the weight capacity of the washer is 150–200 lbs and the dryer is ~50 lbs. does this sound right? The top chest weighs about 150-200 lbs empty, and would be loaded with a bunch of hand tools and some power tools. Anyone done something similar?

Torque wrench find/haul

Not so much a haul as sharing a great find on the Quinn 3/8” digital angle torque wrench. Open box 48% off for $87, so $57 after the 35% off. I’m thrilled given retail is a whopping $170.

Also wanted to thank the folks who posted about the $1.59 microfiber towels, sale on Costco shop towels, and hart jacks at Walmart. I tend to forget which towels are for exterior/paint and which are for wheels/exhaust so I’m glad to start fresh. I couldn’t find the $59 hart super duty jack, but I did grab a hyper tough 3 ton for $71 (will add pic tomorrow). Nice addition/backup to my Daytona long reach.

Hope everyone had a great PLS and if you haven’t already, grab some cheap microfibers, shops towels, and jacks!

What are the odds these are both for sale locally at the same time?

Image quality of the second listing was poor unless enlarging the image but it’s 36”x18” and $450

Icon G1 sale

Went to a new store today, and they did have a 40% off sale on Icon 90 tooth ratchets. The only one left was the 1/4” flex head. It didn’t have the price on it, but I skipped it since I mostly use 3/8”. Just a heads up in case someone is looking.

US General keys

Just upgraded from the Craftsman 4-drawer 26.5” box (right) to the US General series 1 42” 13-drawer roll cab. As much as I wanted the purple series 3, I needed the shorter 18” depth of the series 1. Thankfully I have the purple mini.

I need a key for it, and because it uses the earlier flat key rather than the current tubular one, I can’t find any sellers (I do have the code on the lock cylinder). What’s the best way to get a key, does anyone know an amazon/ebay seller for these old keys? Maybe remove the cylinder and bring to a locksmith/hardware store, or just replace the cylinder? If I do that, I could use the same set on my craftsman middle box which would be nice. Thanks all.

$4 12v impact?!

You guys think this will go through? Stumbled upon this Dewalt 12v 3/8” impact kit for $3.99… only ~96 lb-ft of torque and I already have the 921, but for that price I had to 😂 received the order confirmation, will update if they tell me it’s ready for pickup, or cancelled. The website said 1 available when I ordered it.

Loaded toolbox

Picked up this craftsman 4 drawer toolbox locally for $150. The listing only had one photo and it looked like there were some tools in it… turns out the seller was an older gentleman whose mechanic friend moved to Mexico and told him to do whatever he likes with his stuff! He had 3 boxes total, one for his son, one for another buyer, and he gave me the last one with its contents (including a ridgid sawzall- see photos), and showed me a bunch of smaller bags loaded with sockets, ratchets, wrenches, etc, and told me to take whatever I want. Even gave me a bag to carry it all. He was just as happy as I was to be getting rid of it!

Quinn impact sockets

Snagged these 1/2” Quinn impact sockets on the clearance rack for $28, down from $35. Complete set too, unlike the two Pittsburgh sets marked down from $32 to $26. Worked like a charm on my e90’s lug nuts. Was considering joining ITC for the $32 to $22 discount on the Pittsburghs, but these will work for me.

DCD794

NTD… snagged this DCD794 atomic 1/2” drill from the tool guy outside a pick-a-part yard for $35. Needs a cleaning obviously but I need to replace my ancient ryobi now that I’m building out a proper setup, and I don’t do enough drilling to warrant a new one. Should work nicely with my batteries and other dewalt tools. How’d I do for $35?

Ratchet score?

Snagged this DCF513 atomic ratchet, 1.7Ah powerstack battery, charger, and bag for $120 locally on marketplace. New old stock dated 2022/2023. Score, or are deals on their way for Memorial Day, Father’s Day, and July 4th?

Mid torque sale?

Found this sale on a mid torque, 4Ah MO battery, and charger for $109 but when I add it to my cart it’s $249 + $79 delivery, with no pickup or other shipping option available. I called and they were able to get me the sale price but couldn’t avoid the $79 shipping. Been waiting on a mid torque sale, that’s a bummer. Any tips or thoughts on upcoming sales?

Found this Dewalt atomic 1/2 impact kit for $249. I recently got 2x Ridgid 4Ah batteries + charger for on a deep sale for $63 but could return. Also have a Ridgid 4Ah Max Output battery + drill for I got used for $30, as well as a Ryobi leaf blower, 4Ah battery, and charger.

Is this dewalt impact + 9Ah battery + charger for $249 powerful enough to be my only impact (automotive DIY) and worth returning/selling my Ridgid stuff for, or should I wait for the Ridgid mid-torque to go on sale?
