46th set of studies
The first is a pose study, the second is a coloring study.
This one was tough, the way he's bent over and extending his arm was what made this pose hard to draw. I also had some troubles with the face. I'll have to practice more of these poses. Let me know what you think.
I was gonna do another drawing and shading of another body part. But I ended up just doing some eyes because I have a head ache. I did on with some textures in the eyes and one without. Let me know what you think.
Shading study
I tried adding a few different tones for some more varied shading. Overall I think they came out alright. The only one I'm unsure of are the legs. I'm just unsure if i changed the tones well. Also, why was this easier than shading a STUPID APPLE?!? anyway, let me know what you think.
45th set of studies
The first is a shading by study, the second is a pose study, and the third is just a thumbnail study.
I'm gonna be doing these at least 1 of these a week to help me learn to shade the anatomy. Gimo Chen's study was what I used for a reference, but I'll be using some 3d models and real life references as well. This is so I can get familiar with the technique.
I had some troubles with how he leans in and also with his right leg (left from our POV).
I based these gestures off of concept art for a video game. Let me know what you think.

44th set of studies
Ok, I’m reposting this because I forgot the images 🤦
The first is a figure study, the second is a shading study, and the third is study using 3d models.
getting the lower chin was the hardest part, but overall I think she came out well. Her legs were also a bit of a challenge.
I tried coloring in an apple... I came out poorly. I'm trying to draw this apple because it has a lot of colors mixing together. But I'm having troubles with the color transitions. I'm not going for anything realistic, but I'd like for someone to be able to look at the drawing and say "thats an apple!".
I had some issues with the perspective one. I'm probably going to practice drawing the body parts individually to get use to the perspective setting on magic poser. Let me know what you think.

43rd set of studies
The first is a shading study, the second is a pose study, and the third is just a box study.
I practice a bit of some soft cel shading. Actually, I tried drawing an apple, but I failed miserably so I drew that green shape. I'll be drawing and coloring more references and even some things that are multiple colors. So i'll probably give that apple another try.
The shoulders were the hardest part, but it came out pretty well. Let me know what you think.
41st set of studies
The first is a shading study, the second is a pose study, and the third is just a thumbnail study.
The colors look muddy unfortunatly. I'm planing on trying to use a grey scaling technique next and I'm planing on trying more complext shapes. Eventually, I want to start shading body parts. But for now, I'm really just trying to practice technique and color.
I had some troubles with his eyes but other wise, It came out pretty well. Let me know what you think.

40th set of studies
The first 3 are shading studies, the last one is another pose study.
Before you say it, yes I know I'm suppose to change the main tone to a cooler color when shading (or at least closer to blue). I wanted to try and see how to change the color post shading because I've seen other artist change the color after its been applied... I didn't know how. I've been looking at a few guides, but I think tomorrow and this weekend I'm gonna sit down and really pay attention and even study other art styles. Also, I'm gonna need to learn more about the tools clip studio offers.
I decided to try and color and shade something besides a shape. If you can tell what this is, then I guess I did a good enough job. I chose not to soften the shadows to keep the cel-shade look. But I also added some neon highlights, that's the kind of look I'm hoping to go for. I'll have to do more studies on that and I need to learn more about clip studios tools that can help with coloring and shading. Also, what brush do you use for shading? I've been using a g pen, but I'm wondering if there's anything better to use?
I had troubles drawing the breasts, but for the most part I think it came out well. Let me know what you think.
39th set of studies
The first is a pose study, the second is a study I did with a 3d model, the third is a thumbnail study
I chose this one to practice drawing a tilted head. I know it sounds easy enough, but it's actually kind of tricky.
This is my 4th use of a 3d model and I think I'm gettint the hang of it and how to stylize them. I'll still be doing more studies with magic poser, but im fairly comfortable with it. Let me know what you think.

Coloring and shading study
I’m trying to learn how to cel shade and color, but I’m having troubles with actually applying the shading. Let me know what you think.
37th set of studies
The first is a pose study, the second is a shading study, and the third is a model study
Decided to do this pose for practicing gesture.
I did another shading study. This time I decided to use color and mess around with the highlights. One this I tried to mess around with was neon highlighting. But I think I need to do more experimenting.
I'm using a 3d model for more complex poses. There are some issues with the model because of how the joints bend and pinch, so I have to do some adjusting. Let me know what you think.
36th set of studies
The first is a model and the second is a shading study.
I think I made the body a bit too wide. But I wanted to practice drawing the back muscles.
One thing I want to try and do now is shade and object with more tones and add highlights. I'm looking at certain shading styles and the process some people take for shading. But I'm having troubles with actually applying the tones to the object or if I should use a brush vs the lasso tool. Let me know what you think.
35th set of studies
The first is a model and manikin study, the second is a pose study, and the third is a random character study.
I'm currently testing out which is better for creating poses (when I can't find one). The left one was from a stickybone manikin, the right one was from a 3d model from magic poser. I'd like to know your opinion on which looks better. I think the manikin would be good for basic poses, but the 3d model would be good for more complex poses.
The head was once again difficult (and the breasts).
Drew another random character. I'll be honest, I half assed this one. The pose is actually from awhile back, But I want to practice more with a 3d model. The next one I'll probably do some more thumbnailing and studying for. Let me know what you think.

34th set of studies
The first is a pose study, the second is a shading study, and the third is a feet study.
I had some troubles with the face. His eyes especially are massive.
I did another shading study. This time, I used a face with some planes to help me out. I'll probably do some more of the head shading studies, but that helped me understand these heads the most.
The same quick gesture study I do for hands, I did for the feet. Let me know what you think.
Is Magic poser any good?
I’ve been looking at different options for creating my own poses for drawing. I’ve tried thumbnailing and using a manikin (stickybone), they have their pros and cons. But one thing I haven’t tried yet is using 3d models. The one I see the most is magic poser, and I’ve thought about trying to get it on my laptop. But I wanted to ask people who’ve used it, how do you like it or is it worth trying out and learning? Also are there any alternatives I should look into?
