Soon new to UK

Hi all,

A long shot..

English but lived in New Zealand for pretty much my entire 32 years. Coming over to live for a few years and fancy getting a season ticket, or if that’s not possible, tickets to matches and follow the team away too.

Any good pubs to connect with local fans? Or ways to meet likeminded people? Big on a Stella, football and boxing.

Cheers

Will be living somewhere near Walthamstow.

Bought these a couple of weeks ago and they arrived today. Initial impressions are far far better than I expected. Although I didn’t know what to expect.

As a big heavyweight with very wide hands, I usually struggle with tight hand compartments, especially around the thumb piping. These don’t have that issue at all. They’re extremely comfortable straight out of the bag. The wrist feels secure and slightly on the narrower side, and the glove itself isn’t overly roomy but also not restrictive… pretty much spot on for somebody like me.

There are some really nice touches inside too. A small folded piece of leather or wire at the end of the finger compartment gives you something extra to grip alongside the grip bar, and there’s a soft memory foam finish where your fingertips sit, which adds another level of comfort. The liner is plush and super comfortable - I was initially thinking they’d be more like Gils and almost canvas-like but it’s very soft. The thumb position feels very natural with no awkward angling at all. Composition-wise they are very similar.

They’re a latex foam, but unlike some puncher’s gloves, it doesn’t feel like your fingers can push straight through the padding right away. Weights came in at 14.3oz (left) and 15.3oz (right), which is pretty standard for handcrafted Mexican gloves.

The leather quality is top tier, and the stitching is immaculate. They are a very striking red. Photos genuinely don’t do them justice.

Massively impressed with the craftsmanship from Daniel Campos. I can see now why he makes gloves for Grant. I’ll report back after I’ve put some rounds on them, but first impressions couldn’t be much better.
