Bloody Phlegm and Throat issues!
Health anxiety is ruining my life...
After a particularly busy day at work, with a lot of physical activity, I went back to my office, sat back in my chair and tasted blood. I immediately spat it into a tissue and sure enough there it was, mixed with phlegm. I then aggressively cleared my throat bringing up more blood!
PANIC... I immediately went to the ED. They did blood tests and xray - all came back clear. They told me to see my GP the next day - why I thought?
I spoke to my GP, he looked at my throat and said did I have a viral infection. No. But it did feel a bit sore. He then prescribed Bactoraban for a small amount of inflammation on the 'littles' area of my nose. He also referred me to an ENT.
This happened a week ago. I see a specialist in a couple of days.
For the past week I have been constantly checking my throat, using the light from my phone and a camera. My tonsil arches are too dark, the back of my throat is too red and bumpy - it should be smooth - you name it, I obsessed over it.
I have been doing nasal steaming, using a saline spray and still checking. I have realised I have a deviated septum, searched it on line and am now a medical professional.
I have very mild face pressure, so have sinus cancer. I cleaned my ear this morning and there was blood on the end of the cotton bud. I checked my pillow case from last night, there was blood on there - the cancer must be spreading.
A few days ago I nearly fainted and ended up back at my Drs. They did more tests and again all was well.
I am literally at my wits end with worry and stress.
Interestingly, I have not had any more throat bleeding since that one time!
