Hi again all! Here’s yet another set that of tiles to add to the pile.
These eight half tiles provide modular flexibility in addition to a change of level which I think should make for some interesting layouts and hopefully games.

Not exactly my normal grimdark wheelhouse, but I’m pretty pleased with how this leggy stompy boi sculpt has worked out.
I’ve designed it for resin printers, but its broken down into smaller posable sections, so can be easily printed on most printer sizes.
I’ve also looked at an FDM version, but I’ve not been happy with the results so far.
Looking forward to hear what you guys and girls think.
Hi again all! Here’s another tile to add to the pile.
This time I’ve gone heavy with the railings and included a removable stairway.
In addition to the extra tile, I’m also testing out a way to store them all, take a look at the last photos and let me know what you think. What could go wrong…

Yet another tile from the latest terrain project. This time it’s a little more industrial, just as multi levelled, but a little more open.
I’ve gone a bit ham with graffiti/gang tags. Instead of decals, free hand or pens, I decided on stamps. Very similar to nail art stamps, in-fact essential identical to nail art stamps, except I resin printed some custom ones a little more grim dark in theme, along with a few to match everyone’s gangs.
Like the other tiles before, it’s all a little rough but I think it makes a nice back drop for the minis.

Hi all, here’s another addition to the latest terrain project (and the upcoming Necromunda campaign).
They’re Grav Sleds! (sci-fi pallet trucks 👍)
This trophy is for whoever ends up winning our next Necromunda campaign. Last night/this morning I finally got around to slapping some paint on this custom trophy I sculpted a month or two ago, think it came out pretty well.
Here’s another tile from the current terrain build. As with the others, it’s relatively simple and quickly painted up. Intended to be a backdrop for additional scatter and minis and not be overly distracting. At least that’s the idea.
The eagle eyed may notice that on each corner there is a magnet, each tile now includes magnets on each corner mounted on custom brackets/holders and orientated so that they always click satisfyingly together.
Painted pretty quickly with very little actual brush work, this drop pod is from a larger terrain project I’m currently working on.
Using an airbrush and sponges to do most of the work, and only using a brush to apply the metallics, pin washes and the decals.
I really enjoy painting like this on larger pieces, particularly terrain where quality expectations are a little lower. It’s really freeing and fun throwing down so much paint so quickly without worrying too much. Plus it provides opportunity for experimentation.
Hi all! Happy Friday! Hope everyone is doing great and all my fellow countrymen are surviving this ridiculous UK heat.
Thankfully I’ve been hiding away in the studio over the last couple of days (with the AC on), and so have managed to get quite a bit done on the latest terrain build.
This project is in aid of an upcoming Necromunda campaign and includes around 20 tiles, including full, half and double sized tiles. All of which are pretty much done now, but just need some final touches.
Along with the tiles themselves there’s a lot of scatter and thematic terrain pieces yet to be finished. From the ubiquitous shipping containers and bridges to the not so often seen porta loos and elevated roadways.
This first tile incorporates a bit of both, with the main tile being a destroyed selection of hive layers and the removable drop pod that caused a lot of the damage.
With this builds paint scheme and overall feel, I’ve wanted to do a few things;
- Match into my existing terrain, specifically the giant settlement wall.
- Match the storey line from the previous campaign, leading into the nexts (a dilapidated hive zone in need of reclamation).
- Create a relatively neutral background for the minis, and to a lesser extent, the scatter terrain to sit against without way too much distraction.
- Be fun and pretty quick to achieve.
In the most part I think I’ve achieved all I wanted to. Although being fast has come with a quality cost, it’s all relatively okay as long as you don’t look too close or from underneath 😂.
I’m not normally a fan of lighting miniatures, preferring OSL and painted light, but ‘real world’ lighting does look pretty good on Necromunda terrain.
So I’ve sculpted up and printed off some mobile spot lights.
As these work with very affordable little self enclosed LEDs, it’ll let me move them about and not worry about any wiring etc.
If you’re interested in the LEDs, search for ‘Miniature Led Lights Small Lights for Hand Craft’ or something similar on Amazon.

A little reward for the next campaign winner.
In preparation for this weekend (UKGE) I’ve finished off the custom plinth for my single mini entry to the Sir Coates Comp.
Originally not intended as a display piece, but very much a mini to be played with (in a Necromunda campaign), I hadn’t given much or any thought to a display plinth and just based him like the rest of the gang.
As I still want to use this old fella as a gaming piece after the weekend, and really don’t want to risk decoupling him from his base, I’ve made a custom plinth and topper which continues the floor pattern, but separates in to no.3 pieces to encapsulate the original base.
Each piece is held firmly in place with rare earth magnets (and is super satisfying to click into place). I’ve also fitted magnets to the minis base just in case, and to the underside of the plinth to hold it in its transport box.
I’ve decided to leave the plinth and topper matte black. The intent is that all the focus should be on the mini, although i would definitely paint it all if it had a back drop/diorama. But as it is, i think it’s a dramatic contrast that puts 99% of the focus where it should be (I may regret this decision in the future 🤷🏻).
Looking forward to dropping this off at the cabinets on Saturday and having a great weekend at the UKGE. 🤞
Right, I’m calling it done. I phoned in the base a bit, but as I’ll be painting all the campaign terrain in a similar speedy style I figure it’ll work out in the long run.
For those who haven’t been following along (welcome btw), this fella is a miniature of my own creation, sculpted/modelled digitally in Sketchup and Zbrush. Printed in resin on a Mars 5 ultra at .05mil (so nothing super fancy).
The mini has been created specifically for an upcoming Necromunda campaign, to lead a new gang of gene smithed Goliaths. (No plans to make this available for download, it’s just a one off right now).
The back story at a glance is that he’s essentially the character Babu Dhakal from the novel ‘The Outcast Dead’ (aka Arik Taranis). A thunder warrior who escaped being purged during the unification wars and managed to undo some of the limitations big E put on him when initially gene enhanced way back when (using a few squishy bits from marines who had the misfortune to cross his path).
After getting off Terra during the siege he’s been bandying about the galaxy and has come to find himself on Necromunda, where the Goliath strain of humanity has resonated with him (plus they’re pretty open to a little gene smithing).
With all that said, I’m pretty sure that as I’ve made a bit of effort with this dudes back story and paint job, he’ll be annihilated in the opening games and 66’d shortly after 😂… such is the curse of newly painted minis.
Probs won’t put the same level of effort into the rest of the gang, but as this is my first proper character mini of my own design I thought I should push the boat out a little, even if it’s only for play and not competition.
Must admit I’m pretty happy with how it’s come out, and how enjoyable this mini was to paint.
Looking forward to getting the rest of his pals painted up soon.

Another little session of progress with my next Necromunda gang leader. This time I spent a couple of hours applying decals and some a scratches/chipping.
Still loads to do, but it feels like I’m getting there now.
Next up is some dirt/weathering, some OSL from the weapons heat sinks and the helmet visor, along with the inevitable tidy up. Then finally the base.
(Don’t think I’ll put quite this much in to the rest of the gang…)
