Firmware Updates for Jamma Multi Game Boards?

This may be a stupid question, but does anybody know if there are firmware updates for the Babystar 2100 in 1 Jamma Board? I have one of these, and I noticed that it had an option for firmware updates.

One feature I was curious if there was an update for was to enable the 15KHz video modes. This board currently only has VGA capabilities, and I was trying to set it up to pass video / audio through the Jamma Hardware into the Axunworks Jamma Extractor. It seems that it currently only has 31KHz VGA capabilities. Wasn't sure if this was something a software update could fix.

Of course, an update with more games would be awesome too!

Rule Changes for the Box Push Game?

I frequent the Mentor, OH, location, and the box push game has been a long-time staple at this location. To win this game, it's always been very straightforward: you turn the box, and you push it to the end, and it would fall through. I have had countless times where the bars were not far enough apart for the box to fall through, and the employee would say that this means it wasn't set up correctly. They would always give me the prize if this were the case, especially because I basically paid for the figure by playing that long.

Recently, at this location, I've noticed that they intentionally put the bars very close together so that the only possible way for it to fall through is at a 90-degree angle. I had a pretty poor experience with an employee to whom I showed the above position to, and he told me that it should still be winnable and then moved it halfway back to the center. I was curious if any other locations started doing this. It seems like a cheap way for them to trick people into playing machines that aren't winnable unless you get them in a very specific position. I honestly think this is pretty scummy, especially because you need to have already played 5-6 times to even get it into this position.

Is this a company-wide thing, or has management at Mentor just gone downhill?

Visiting the Round1 in Glendale, AZ

Took a trip out to Arizona recently for work and made a video with some friends at the Glendale location. Had a great time there! Highly recommend it there. Great staff!

Red Rubber Ball UFO Catcher

I was curious what everyone’s experience is with the setup with the red rubber ball. Since my local Round1 in Mentor, OH swapped the old blue/green rubber ball with this one, it’s gotten nearly impossible to win. At our location, the claw is almost never strong enough to get barely any movement. Sometimes it seems like you might be able to walk it off but then you tend to get to a spot where it just doesn’t budge. Is this setup mostly rigged or does my location just have it set up wrong?

I did win it once at the Glendale, AZ location so maybe it’s just the one location.
