Did the restaurant miss anything??

I don't know. Did it? I can only see there is sometimes a receipt but I don't know if everything that is supposed to be in there, is in there. I am unnaturally enraged with that question 😠

I just left a comment in another Sub that I have to hope the bag they give me with no receipt or name actually is my person's order. 😳

Customer updated route??

Recently I will accept an order and as I'm on my way to pickup I get a notice customer has updated the location to drop off. The app doesn't tell you the difference in mileage so you have to go to the address plug it into a map app and every time it's way more miles.

I called Uber and they said I'd get paid for the order I accepted. Which makes no sense. I called back and a different person said the GPS would recognize the extra miles and I'd be paid.

So my dumb ass went ahead with the order and I did not get paid for the extra miles. I talked to multiple people. They saw I drove the extra miles but I agreed to do so. Like wtf?

Order of prep

My only experience working in restaurants was my very first job as a dishwasher. So I may not have the best grasp on how restaurants do things.

But if I receive an order, I'm guessing the Restaurant is getting around the same time. I don't expect it to be ready there but I also don't expect a bunch of other people to get their order when they come in AFTER me. Not other drivers, but customers.

There's one coffee place that a bunch of us drivers are waiting and over 6+ cars will go through the drive thru and several walk up customers - that's it's obvious they aren't app customers - and we are looking at each other like wtf?

I'm probably missing something. I just want to have a better understanding of why we are waiting way longer than people that drive or walk up after us.

I thought we represented a customer too 🤔

Uber Nav - hold my beer!!!

Customers!!! If you see your driver going in circles, reversing a lot, sitting in one spot, driving wrong direction - they may not be multi-apping or they may not be a complete knucklehead.

Uber's navigation is a ginormous flaming turd.

As a driver we will experience some - mostly all of the following:

-Nav wants you to drive through people's houses

-Nav will spin in circles like it's Jack Sparrow's compass and what you want most from it is to just get to the customer so you don't get a thumbs down

-Nav can't tell what direction you are facing so it can take a few seconds to spin the other direction- especially when there's not a convenient u-turn

-Nav knows when you have milkshakes and ice cream and if you don't know your area well it will send you the longest route to customer.

-Nav will start rerouting when you almost to your customer. If you are lucky it resolves itself quickly. Ain't no one that lucky so you'll have pull over and restart your phone

There's more- these are just the things that have happened to me this week so far. Usually a few times a day. It can create levels of rage not thought possible in a human.

So please don't jump to conclusions. We want to get your delicious noms to you on time so we can move on to our next order. Be patient if possible.

What's a good day?

For me it used to be a certain dollar amount made for the day. Now I just hope I don't get falsely reported, thumbs downed or tips removed 😠

I get that people are crankier these days but dang I'm bringing you comfort food! 🤣

How many regulars do you have?

Almost have of my daily orders are from regulars. Like long term regulars. Some are same time every day. A lot are just whenever. It seems each month the number of regulars increase.

Being paired again with thumbs down customer

Someone in one of the posts said if a customer gives you a thumbs down they are automatically blocked from you getting them. Not true.

A couple months back a woman gave me a thumbs down and reported me for not being the person in my profile pic - even though I was wearing the same jacket. Uber removed the report but wouldn't remove thumbs down - yes I spoke to a supervisor.

Then, a few weeks later I got her again. Meet at door. Rude as hell. Didn't thumbs down me, but removed tip. Called Uber to get her blocked on my end which usually works.

I'm still getting her only now when I get her order I just sit on it until they tell me they have to give it to another driver. She can go 🖕right off.

Customers rating drivers with thumbs down

I realize there are bad drivers ers out there who do a multitude of things that warrant a thumbs down review. But before you do that make sure that it's actually the fault of the driver that is causing the bad rating.

If you are missing items from a sealed bag it's the restaurant. If you got the wrong items (outside of a shopping order) then it's the restaurant.

We don't cook your order or package your order (outside of shopping). It can take 6-12 months or longer for a thumbs down to go away because people don't often rate when the delivery is good.

Just wanted to throw this out there.
