These tiny bugs (maybe 1-3mm) have completely taken over our back patio lately. The bites are honestly worse than normal mosquitoes, and they itch for days.

My kids are having a pretty rough time with them, and standard bug spray doesn't seem to phase them at all.

Are these what people call no-see-ums? And more importantly... how do you actually keep them away? Open to any practical advice because it's getting miserable out there.
