Looks like a change in setters and no Sekita still.

I thought the whole reason Sekita didn’t play in the VNL was because he wanted to play for the Asian Championship 😳

Finland and Russia are officially qualified to play VNL 2027.

The FIVB has announced they will now expand from 18 teams to 19 for the 2027 year allowing Russia back into international standings and Finland who is now the highest ranking team not participating in the 2026 VNL. They will be replacing Canada who’ve been relegated.

Honestly not sure how the pool grouping will work next year. As of the 2026 VNL, the format is built around 18 teams, with three host pools of six teams each week. Every team plays 12 preliminary matches across three weeks. So will they be adding 1 pool of 7 teams and 2 pools of 6?

Canada has officially been relegated from the VNL

Canadas Men’s National Volleyball team has officially been relegated from the 2026 VNL after finishing bottom of the standing.

They'll be eligible to return to the VNL in 2028 if they're the highest-ranked non-participating team at the end of the 2027 VNL season.

With news of relegation FIVB have not yet decided who will be taking their spot in the VNL next year with the ban lifting for Russia they will possibly be reinstated their ranking before the ban and Finland being the next highest ranked non participating team. Which team will it be?

24f anybody want to chat? I’m not having the best night dealing with crappy family members so I’d love to chat and get my mind off things 🥲

Hey! I’m Alexis but I go by Lexi living in the US, 24yrs old and I’m an RBT (Behavioral technician) I work with individuals with autism / developmental disabilities.

Some quick facts about me:

•I speak Japanese, Russian, and English! My mom is Belarusian-American and my dad’s Japanese so I grew up speaking/ listening to their native languages.

•I enjoy watching tv mostly sitcoms (The office, Parks&Rec, Modern family,) Anime and kdramas lol

•Some music artists that I enjoy are The Lumineers, Old Dominion, Tate McRae, Kendrick, Kehlani, I’m also into rock/ j-rock.

•I love reading historical fiction, fantasy or romance genres actually just finished The Mystic Trilogy.

•I enjoy working out and being outdoors (mostly hiking) I use to love paddle boarding and kayaking back when I lived in California but now I live in a landlocked state so my water adventures are limited lol

•I’m not too big on watching sports but I’m a huge fan of basketball (Nuggets fan). I also played volleyball from middle school to junior year of university and I enjoy watching/ playing. I’m also currently learning/ watching soccer (my best friend is heavily into the fifa right now and is talking about it sooooo much so I’m learning as I go 🤣)

•Video games I play are LoL, Valorant, Disney Speedstorm, Stardew valley, and battlefield (every so often).

Anyways that’s all I can think of so far to give a little about me lol if you’re interested in chatting send me a message hope we can have a nice chat! 😄

VBTV ads??

I was trying to watch the JPN v CAN match earlier and saw that VBTV now does ads. Anybody know when they started doing that? Kind of annoying since I pay premium and it puts an ad at the beginning and middle of the matches.

Also it was a great game! Our girls are 0-4 ranking 2nd at the moment!

JVA President, Shunichi Kawai makes statement over the arrest made yesterday.

“As an athlete and more importantly a responsible adult what you’ve done is truly unacceptable and I absolutely cannot forgive this incident your actions have no awareness to how much trouble you’ve caused for the team and association”

“First I’d like to speak of the athletes who accompanied Sato, these individuals have NOT participated in last year’s VNL, WCH, or Paris Olympics.”

(News confirmed there were 4 other national teammates who accompanied Sato to the gambling parlor whose names will not be released those individuals have been tested and results came back negative as well as their belongings searched)

“We sincerely apologize to the teammates and staff and fans. I myself am truly disappointed. Please understand I can only provide limited information as this matter is still currently ongoing. We will provide a full statement with more facts and a clear picture as soon as we can”

“Please refrain from making baseless accusations and slanderous comments against other players. Right now the ones who are hurting the most are the National Team Players who are currently at training camp. They have suddenly lost what should have been a great opportunity of a press conference because of one player who lacked self awareness my heart sincerely aches for the players and staff as their training has been disrupted. This incident occurred when players should be most motivated for international competitions so it will be difficult for some players to recover emotionally/ mentally. Nevertheless I believe they will continue to practice without hesitation and perform well in international competitions.” ~ Shunichi Kawai

💭Other media sources claim that Sato last national season was lacking in many ways such as meeting women, drinking/ partying, and constantly showing up to practice late which frustrated some team members.

‼️Wolfdog Nagoya has stated they have terminated their contract with Sato and he will no longer be involved in the club nor their activities. All players and staff members have been contacted and will be drug tested including foreign team members who’ve gone back home after club season concluded.‼️
