I485 mailing to USPS: frustration and worries

Hi all,
I mailed my I 485 package to the Chicago lockbox on 08/12, and was told it should arrived on 08/15. Today is 08/18. All I see from the website is that my package is “available for pickup” in Chicago (see screenshot). Has anyone ever experienced this with USPS? How long before it gets delivered ? Should I call them ? I’m worried for potential backward movement in the VS for September. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Employment letter

Hi guys,

I’m a postdoc at a university, and currently working in my I485 package. I wonder if it is fine to have my employment letter signed by my advisor; if not, who should be the ideal personnel to sign that document?

Thanks

I-458 form questions. Need some help pls and thks

Hi guys,

I’m working on my I-485 now, and there are some questions which I’m in need of some help with. Here are my questions and those questions
Context 1: I graduate in China, and applied for my H1B visa in July, 2022 (from my home country) and received a 221g form requesting more information (about my travel itinerary, CV, and research projects in the US); my case was eventually approved in March 2023 and I travelled to the US
Q1: Was I ever denied a US visa ?

Context 2: my first H1B expired on 6/30/205, and I filed for extension on 4/11/205, my extension of status was approved on 02/21/2026; the case status online changed to “approved” on 12/22/2025, but on the I797A, it says 02/21/2026 (I just checked it and the approval date online now reflected what is on thr I797A notice)
Q2: did I ever violate my non immigration visa?
Q3: given that I continue to work throughout that time my visa application was pending, have I ever work illegally in the US?
Q4: have I ever been unlawfully present in the US?

Thanks a lot for your help.
