Wilson - El Diente Traverse

Did the Wilson El diente traverse earlier this month, (August 1st). So far probably the easiest of the 4 great traverses that I've done (3/4). Easy backpack in to camp the night before, then a quick and fun summit day, leaving at around 5 and getting back to the car at 12:30. Fun climbing, great weather and just a good time. Also up there for Colorados 150th birthday, unintentionally

Persistent steering shudder + PS whine (99 Mazda b2500 manual)

Hello, I just replaced the power steering pump in my 99 Mazda b2500 (w the five speed manual). We replaced the pump, the pressurized lines, the serpentine belt, and flushed the system twice, yet there are still some air bubbles and a shudder when turning the wheel. The wheel turns fine with little to no noise and no shudder when the front wheels are elevated, but as soon as it's on the ground the noise and shudder start. What are some possible causes/ fixes for this. Thanks! The attached video gives some idea of the noise, and shudders.

The Maroon Bells Traverse

Me and my friends did the traverse on Friday 6/12. Woke up at 3, drove from a campground to the trailhead and started hiking at 4;30. We reached maroon peak at around 10, welcomed with perfect temperatures, a clear sky and no wind. We then began the traverse, which ended up being (to us at least) much easier and less scary than advertised. The rock was better than expected, the climbing easy, and the exposure was less than we thought it would be. Reached north maroon around 11:50, and then began the grueling descent down the ledges. We then got back to the trailhead around 4 pm. My one takeaway, I'm not sure the amazingly fun traverse was worth the horrible descent.
