Greetings from Ventura, CA. I have this pepper tree in my yard, and I’m concerned about its health. The base is absolutely massive, but the overall look is dry and sparse, even though it does flower in spring. Any guesses on its age, and any concerns based on its general appearance? I read they typically only live 30-50 years and I can’t imagine this tree is less than 50 based on the trunk size. Thanks in advance!
PS: yes, I’m trying to get the ivy off, it’s a menace!
