Tried experimenting more with color theory and shading—I enjoyed this one :)
The first one is the latest one I did. I’m experimenting with shadows a bit more (or trying to).
I picked this up a week or so ago. I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit! Just wanted to share. Last 2 are some of the first ones I did :)
I dreamt that an alien species came to earth and culled humanity because our population had grown too large and we were destroying our planet. I witnessed mass destruction and death. The planet was bathed in plasma fire and blood, and screaming and wailing peppered the air. Over 95% of humanity had been killed, and the few remaining survivors lived in fear of one another. There were opportunists, and trust was a luxury in a resource scarce environment.
Dream me had developed hyper vigilance, but I found refuge.
Despite everything, I had somehow made a friend. There was a small group of survivors in a nearby cavern my new friend was a part of. After traversing the treacherous mountainside and wading through a series of tortuous tunnels, I was ready to finally meet my fellow survivors.
These people had survived The Cull—they were the remaining 5% of the population! They were *survivors* and the best humanity currently had to offer.
I stepped into the cavern eager to meet the survivors, their leader emerged from the shadows. I immediately recognized the pinned back ears.
“LALA FUCKING KENT? *You’re* the leader of humanity?!” I gasped, absolutely gobsmacked. Her eyes darted menacingly. “Are you *trying* to get popped?” She snapped.
She was pretty good actually? And led us all to an era of peace organized by her efforts to rebuild humanity. She even became an envoy to that alien race and developed a treaty with them.
That’s it, that’s my weird dream.
I have an 11.5 year old spayed husky. I noticed a seemingly indolent, slow growing mass on her foreleg a little over a month ago, and FNA/Path results came back as synovial myxosarcoma. I logically know that amputation is probably the best course of action, and that it would most than likely be curative based on the literature. Emotionally I’m having a hard time reconciling with this decision—she’s had TPLO surgeries on both back legs and has arthritis in both back knees. She’s been doing great with Carprofen, and her energy levels are still good overall. I have an appointment with oncology Monday to discuss options, but at the end of the day I just want to make sure her quality of life will be okay. It feels shitty knowing I might have to get her leg take off… as someone who regularly gets human legs at work, at least our human patients are aware of what’s happening. It’s not like I can tell my dog.
