I don't understand avatar prices...

Just heads up this is going to be a possibly long rant about how some creators charge their shit. It's my opinion so if you don't like it, shoo. I'm sorry.

I understand charging the time it takes you to make the avatar and all that right? I understand some people want their get back for their work. Here's an example and tell me if this makes sense to you.

There is an avatar I'm thinking of buying that is $45. She has 4 outfits, multiple accessories, I think 3 different hairstyles, multiple props, many different color options you can mix and match, body sliders, gogo, audiolink, limbscaler, afk animation, custom animations for blinking, she comes with a quest compatible version and an optimized version, multiple props, even a vtuber model. I'm getting my money's worth with this one.

At the same time, there is another avatar that is $66... She has 3 outfits (not counting the bikini cuz to me that isn't an outfit...), 2 hairs, a few accessories, no props, body sliders, gogo, and she's pc only. Why?

Again, I know making your moneys worth but seriously....? The $45 avatar was mostly from scratch besides the head, body and the essentials. The $66 was full on kitbashing with no edit to any of the textures.

What are your vrchat avatar creation pet peeves?

I'll go first.

Why the FUCK are people charging 15 fucking dabloons for a god damn head texture that barely changes anything? This is a problem I only have with western avatars. With booth, I seen someone charge $9 MAXIMUM for a texture. With the western market it can go up to $30! FOR A TEXTURE! It's not even just the textures. The heads and bodies I can understand. The TEXTURE? Even some small things like nails can cost you $7-12! Someone had a body texture that costed MORE than the base itself!

Second pet peeve is unity hub constantly forcing itself open.

I don't even know what to title this.

This post is a series of questions and my thoughts. If not allowed, please remove. TDLR: Why is the VRChat space like this?

I feel it shouldn't matter what avatar you wear despite what you identify as. If you're a man and you wear a female avatar, that's okay. If you're a woman and you wear a man avatar, that's okay. If you're transfem and wear a female avatar, that's okay. Vice versa, that's fine. I have no problem with what people wear. What matters is what is underneath, right? I'm me. I'm Luci.

Here's my first question. Why do people get mad and call you transphobic if you accidentally misgender them? ACCIDENTALLY, btw. If it was on purpose, then yeah, be mad. And then why do they act like they don't care if you misgender them, but then those same people cry about it? They actually do care and call you transphobic anyway, even if you yourself are an ally and even have friends that are trans in any way.

I'm an afab "cis" woman. I literally call myself an "entity" because I wear whatever the fuck I feel like. I wear chibis, furries, booth models, meme avatars, occasionally egirls and eboys (however not my type of thing), you name it. Why is it when I wear male avatars suddenly I'm an egg? Why do these people get mad when I wear chibis and I'm immediately labeled a creep? Why is it that when I wear meme avatars I'm labeled a troll or pick me? You gotta have a little whimsy or silly to be happy. Why is when I wear an e girl or eboy suddenly I'm the town harlot?

Over time, I've gotten into Avatar creation. I've learned a lot of things about this. You can't exactly "fit in" if you wear a variety of avatars and aren't confined into a certain group (or niche?). I don't want to identify with any of these communities. I don't want to be an egirl. I don't want to be a booth girl. I don't want to be a chibi. I don't want to be a troll. I want to be ME, you know? But why is it that I CAN'T be me?

I go into e people spaces, and they almost always push me out because I apparently don't reveal myself enough? I don't wear skirts that expose my butt in a thong. I always hide as much skin as I can to stay modest and comfy. Furries are more accepting. At least, that's what you'd think. They're almost as bad as the e people nowadays as far as their cliques and sexualizing. They even exclude you if you're a specific furry species. Like nardos or any of bratbun's species for some ungodly reason. As far trolls go, you can't even be funny or a nuisance without being labeled as one. I'm not saying ragebait or being annoying. I'm talking telling jokes and having funny gimmicks on your avatar. Chibis come with their own set of problems that most in the community know about. You can't even be a cutie patootie without being labeled a creep or age player or age regressor. That actually bothers me in more ways than one, but that's a topic for another time.

Apparently, it's also WRONG to be someone who doesn't identify as any of these??? Why should I confine myself in one space? Why should I confine myself to one clique? Why can't I be me? Why can't I just hop around?

Ultimately, my question is why? Only WHY?

Are Avatar Creators Just Allergic To People Of Color?

I'm probably gonna get a lot of hate for asking this.

They say it's "inclusive" but then it's just skin toggles to saturate the skin like you got a bad tan at the beach and then the ugliest dreads known to man that is like you put a mop on your head and call it a day..

There ARE black avatars out there, don't get me wrong. But why isn't there any that are... normal? The female ones look like bimbos with big lips and huge hips, tiny waist, and huge boobs. And then the dudes like drug dealer thugs you see walking around. You know which ones I'm talking about. Every dude I've seen wearing that shit fit the stereotype painfully.

I barely see any for the Indian representation other than the ones I think are called Lehenga Choli but sexualized to the brim. And then the other ones I don't know the name of. The ones with the drap over their mouth, borderline bra/crop top, long skirt bikini bottoms. No, it's not belly dancers. Usually has a lot of jewelry. Not to sound offensive but I really don't know what it's called and I don't know how to describe otherwise. I tried googling but that didn't help. I know it's usually for cultrual dances, I think?? But that's the only representation I see for them.

As for the mexican/Hispanic rep, all I see is Brazilian Miku inspired avatars and that's pretty much it.

Some creators actually do try and I give them props. But A LOT OF THEM don't. It's always the same kind of avatars just skin toggles and that's it. Always straight or curly (not even full on curls. Like straight hair used with a curling iron) hair. The skin toggles aren't even that good if they're dark. The palms are still the color of the skin. You know people with darker skin have lighter palms? The ONLY THREE creators I've seen achieve this is MoonJelly, and GmsBox, and Novapie. No one else does it.

All Because I Called Out A Creep

I called out a creep a couple days ago and got them kicked from mutual servers I had with them as well as reported them to discord and ever since these fuckers have been spamming me with friend requests. If you know, you know.

Any way to deal with this shit?

Also I have proof of the person being a creep. It's not a he said she said shit. It's visibly there.

Are you ready for the Rec Room people?

It's already starting. I keep seeing them saying, "It should've been vrchat, not us," and that's a little wild to me. Also, what was the reason they shut down again? It was them not being profitable anymore and sometimes with management, right?

I don't really mind it. Children are gonna children, and we gotta report the ones that shouldn't be here, which is inevitable unfortunately. I do already don't like the adults because they're already being annoying about it.

Dear Avatar/World Creators

Do you ever have those moments where you're just like "I wanna change this" "I can improve" "Wait let me mess with this" to an unhealthy amount? Like you spend sooooooo much time in unity unintentionally? You want to change one thing and you end up being there for hours....

Is there a 3d model of the Kinkisharyo fleet?

I didn't know what flair to put this under. 😅

I have a plan of when (if I ever) I get a better computer, I want to make my own VRChat world dedicated to my train obsession.
