Childe was born without a constellation, "Monoceros Caeli" belongs to Surtalogi. Skirk calling him a "blank slate" was foreshadowing this.

the "it" that remained on Childe is a fragment ofThe Third Descender's will, and is also why he wasn't born without a constellation.

Surtalogi noticed this and gave Childe his constellation so he could follow his path and eventually grow strong enough to give him a worthy battle. (he may be the one who said the words in the Childe boss description.")

the "it" within Childe and Surtalogi's authority are at odds with eachother, this is why his vision is unstable, because it's a consequence of Surtalogi's meddling in his fate.

tldr: Childe is a blank canvas that Surtalogi is painting his masterpiece on, this could also be why the Tsaritsa wants him.
