Just a heads up, if anyone has loved ones in the Glen Retirement System, they’ve had an outbreak of C. Diff and don’t seem to be doing anything about it. My grandfather who was staying at the Glen to recover from colon cancer, was one of several residents that tested positive for it and is now fighting that on top of AFib, dehydration, and possible clotting. From what I understand, when residents have had diarrhea, they get cleaned up with cloth bath towels, which get reused, and not disposable wipes.

PLEASE take care of your elders, C. Diff is extremely contagious and very dangerous for compromised people. Take gloves and masks if visiting, bring cleaning wipes, etc. I can’t say for sure what’s going on internally, but from what we’ve seen, basically nothing is being done about it. I’m not here to talk shit about retirement homes, I just want to warn people about the outbreak so hopefully what happened to my grandfather won’t happen to others.
