They’re arriving for a four day stay at our house to spend time with the kids and us .

My diet , exercise , all my self care routines went out the window , that’s how overwhelming they are. They’re not evil per se, but they are “family” and “parents” and I’ve been married 20 years so it’s long enough I’m used to their shenanigans. Thank God I live 1000 mi away.

Fil is a micromanaging obnoxious spoiled man and my MIL is a covert manipulator, as well as this ever growing victim mindset. Always the victim. In every single way. But does so covertly .

Easiest example, they were told to bring chairs, to our lakefront trip, “oh we don’t need any don’t worry about us”

We go. I sit in my chair and they ate their meal standing up.

Before I’d offer her everything of mine. Now I don’t cater. You live you learn.
