Hi, I have a best friend of 2 years. We had one conflict 6 months ago on my birthday when she didn’t bring me a gift after I brought one for her (but I didn’t say that), and she canceled attending my second day birthday event two hours before just because of the rain, even though she knew I only invited her. She called me after a month to apologize, and we got together again, but that was the first red flag for me.

This week, I started working at a company she used to work at. On the second day, I was running late because I went to a party to find a husband (I go to those four times a week because marriage is my goal, and she knows this), but because of the thunderstorm and not being able to get an Uber, I wanted to text the manager to ask if I could be late or if I shouldn’t come at all (they have a very strict attendance policy with fines and potential firing). I didn’t have his number because he said he wouldn’t give it to me since I’m new (lol), so I texted my friend and asked for his number. She used to work there but left voluntarily.

In response, she said she wouldn’t give it to me because they didn’t leave on good terms and she didn’t want to text him out of the blue after six months of no contact. I said I understood, but I might get fired, and he didn’t give me his number, and she said, “don’t be mad.” I stopped talking to her.

In four days, she sent me a reel on Instagram. I said I wasn’t in the mood for memes because she set me up to get fired. She responded with a long abusive rant saying I’m immature and that I chose a party over work. She knows I go there not to party and that I don’t even drink, but to meet a man. I thought I’d finish two hours before my shift. FYI, she was fired from two places because of drinking, skipping work and poor communication with management. I didn’t think it was very mature, but I always supported her and told her she was absolutely right. She's also single and I invited her to those parties and told her that I met lots of men there but she never wanted to go and always found a reason like she’s sick, tired, didn’t sleep etc etc. I could forgive her if she had said sorry, but instead she started fighting even more.

I felt insulted because I always supported her, even when I knew it was her fault, and helped with making money when we worked together. She’s naturally a depressive and sad person, and she was always complaining to me, and I listened. And after two years of friendship, I asked for help for the FIRST time, and her response was like this.

I know she talks to therapists non-stop at home, and I wonder if they told her that her friends are immature and she shouldn’t help them, that she should keep her personal boundaries, and blah blah.

As I right that I blocked her and broke up with her? Should I come back?
