I'd like to believe that all the promotional art made by Fujimoto and MAPPA is an alternate timeline where Denji and Reze got to be happy.

Let’s set the stage so you guys can have an idea as to what you’re getting into. First off this is gonna be a long read, so I suggest you find a nice place to sit down and relax, and what I’m gonna do is not only criticize Part 2 but also rewrite it in a way that utilizes the same “ingredients” Fujimoto used but with different concentrations, adding them in sooner or later or not at all if they’re detrimental to the story and, if needed, some Part 1 elements to fix plot-holes and/or inconsistencies.
Alright, so Part 2 was bad. Like really bad. Like HOLY SHIT it was ABYSMAL DOGSHIT and I just can’t understand how or why this happened considering Chainsaw-Man had such good world building, interesting characters and an entertaining power system…BUT!!! I might be able to use the elements introduced in it to make a more coherent and, if possible, enjoyable story.
Story rewrite section:
Let’s start at the beginning; I don’t know what Fujimoto was thinking during the conception of Asa’s character and what purpose she was supposed to fulfill but giving her so much spotlight at the beginning only to take it all away as the story progressed was just…weird…you could kill off Asa and make Yoru take complete control over her body and very little would change since Asa’s most important moments were initiated by Yoru. You could argue that her purpose was to “civilize” Yoru and/or make her feelings for Denji bleed into Yoru but even then Yoru would still be “civilized” by living in human society and we’re not sure if it really was Asa’s feelings that made Yoru have a change of heart since Yoru was all over Denji once he started getting really depressed which apparently excites her. Because of this uncertainty I’m not sure what end goal or purpose Asa was meant to achieve but because of it we have A LOT of freedom as to what Asa can achieve in our new story.
Let’s begin our new story with Asa in school similarly to how Part 2 began BUT with some slight modifications. First off Bucky is already established as the classroom’s pet and everyone is very fond of him. As the class is in a short break where everyone is playing with him or socializing with friends the teacher and an individual with a suit and tie enter the classroom. The teacher tells everyone to settle down and pay attention to what the well-dressed stranger is about to give.
Public-Safety wants YOU to protect this city from Devils
The stranger reveals himself as a Public-Safety Devil-Hunter and he’s looking for people willing to fight Devils. He starts explaining what Public-Safety workers do and what benefits they’d get if they’d join. He reveals to them that Public-Safety has gotten their hands on a “powerful yet friendly Devil” who makes contracts without the contractee sacrificing ANYTHING so long as they work for Public-Safety. Everyone is overjoyed and start signing up. As the Public-Safety worker answers questions such as training, benefits for students, extracurricular points for graduation and recommendations for collages Asa starts to drift off and think about how Devils and Devil-related activity is starting to be seen as “normal” in everyday life such as Bucky in her classroom, Chainsaw-Man playing Devil hunter and now Public-Safety offering dangerous jobs to young people. She starts ruminating about how she’s better than everyone for not falling for such idiotic tactics, how she’ll have a better future than her classmates, how she’s better off without friends or a romantic interest because they’re a waste of time and the same “superiority complex” she had in earlier chapters. After that things can go as they did in the manga, such as Asa getting killed by the class president because of her jealousy, BUT instead of the class president turning into the abomination she does in the manga she’ll turn into something very similar to Denji’s Chainsaw-Man form. After that things can go pretty much the same, Asa’s revived by Yoru and she kills both the class president-chainsaw-monster and the teacher (All these changes will pay off, hopefully in a satisfying way for you dear reader).
Now we reach the point where Asa gets introduced to Yoru. They talk about her agenda and powers and how they work. It ends with her forcing Asa to go search for the true Chainsaw-Man, similarly to what happened in the manga. Instead of the Devil-hunting-club she joins Public-Safety’s student branch we created for our new story, and she gets paired up with Haruka, Nobana, Seigi, Yoshida and Yuko. They all sign a document which explains that so long as they work for Public-Safety they’ll have a contract with this new Devil which will give them the strength to defend the city from Devils. It also explains that they must follow every and all orders, respect and trust their superiors and to not ask questions. Apart from explaining the benefits they’d get they also receive a list of phone numbers for specific contacts in case they need help. The very act of signing the document automatically completes the contract with the new Devil, except for Asa because she already has a contract with Yoru which cancels out the new contract or maybe because she’s Fiend (I have no GODDAMN idea what the HELL Asa/Yoru was supposed to be because Fujimoto never bothered to explain what the HELL she was but okay…FUCK you Fujimoto…anyways…). After signing the document everyone is sent to training. Their trainers are Katana-Man and Nail-Fiend, the former doing his task in a foul mood while the latter is overjoyed with it. At first their training consists of activating their Devil powers. Slowly but surely, everyone starts sprouting chainsaws out of their limbs, except for Asa and Yoshida, the latter claiming and showing that he already has a contract with the Octopus-Devil and will stick with it for the time being while the former claims that she really doesn’t wanna ruin her school uniform with blood and tears since it has sentimental value for her, having been made by her late mother. Once everyone gets used to cutting things and swinging with their chainsaws it’s time to put their abilities to the test which consists of defeating Katana-Man and Nail-Fiend…if they can…and oh boy do they fail miserably, much to Katana-Man’s delight since he can take out his anger of Chainsaw-Man on them…even if said kids are innocent, confused and terrified out of their minds. Asa tries to coordinate everyone in order to defeat Katana-Man and Nail-Fiend in a team effort by attacking together and setting up traps through the usage of the environment and their chains. It works…until it doesn’t and they’re all defeated, except for Yoshida who was watching from the sidelines this whole time. His team scolds him for this and even as Katana-Man and Nail-Fiend approach him Yoshida remains unfazed and keeps his composure along with that unsettling smile. Soon after a pair of tentacles appear through the floor and trap Katana-Man which swiftly break every bone in his body. Another pair of tentacles trap Nail-Fiend and throw him at a wall which leaves him unconscious. Asa turns to looks with a scowl at the one responsible for defeating her opponents in such a horrendous way.
Couldn’t you have done that earlier? says Asa.
I was just analyzing you guys’s fighting techniques that’s all, says Yoshida.
We could’ve been killed! Says Haruka.
These are training exercises Haruka, there’s no way you guys could’ve been killed.
It still felt like we were fighting for our lives!
Haruka’s right, says Yuko. Despite it being training it was still way out of our league and if you had done your part we could’ve won without everyone getting their assess kicked. We’re a team Yoshida and that means everyone does their part and helps everyone out to get the job done.
But every team needs a leader, right? And who better than me? Yoshida raises his hand, I’ve got the most experience fighting Devils after all.
The group simply looks at him with an indifferent gaze and after a while they start talking between each other about who’ll be the team leader. Yoshida’s smile disappears as he lowers his hand. After some time, Yuko speaks up.
Well why not Asa?
Me?
Yeah. I mean, you did pretty good coordinating us…even if it was just to survive Knife-Guy and Nail-Dude…but that was due to our inexperience. I think with enough training and practice we could not only defeat them but also become pretty bad ass Devil-Hunters. We could become popular just like Chainsaw-Man, maybe even more! So what do you guys think? Asa be team leader.
There are doubts at first but after a few seconds everyone agrees.
Wait!, says Asa. Yoshida’s right though, we should get to know each other better so we can understand one and other better. That way we can coordinate better and improve our skill together, what do you guys think?
After a bit of thinking they all agree and sit down and talk for a bit. Everyone starts talking about how they handle Devils, which Devils they’d likely fear the most and least, how to better improve their abilities and techniques and how to coordinate better during fights. After a while they start talking about their pasts, how they got here, what lead them here and why. When it’s Asa’s turn she starts opening up about how she lost her mother and her cat after the Typhoon-Devil attack and instead of being bullied or laughed at or mocked by her friends she’s instead greeted by sympathy and in some cases empathy from her team. They then start talking about daily life and trivial things, funny things that happened in their lives. Asa is enjoying her new friend’s company and bond. Sadly, Yoru appears and tells her that she’s doing an amazing job since weapons created out of her new friends would be extremely powerful. Before Asa can spiral on her dark thoughts the bell rings and it’s back to normal classes. The day goes by normally and Asa’s mood, despite Yoru’s previous comment, starts to improve.
The next day Asa’s team is called out for patrol, deeming them capable of doing said task. They split up in order to cover more ground and just like in the manga Asa and Yuko run into the Bat-Devil and try to fight it off. Asa tries to fight him using a sword while Yuko transforms her limbs into chainsaws. Thanks to Asa’s enhanced physical abilities and planning, with a little help from Yoru, and Yuko’s chainsaw arms they’re able to put up a good fight but they’re still inexperienced using their powers which lets the Bat-Devil get the upper hand and severely injure Yuko. Just as the Bat-Devil is about to kill them he’s killed by Denji and the Cockroach-Devil slamming into him. The Cockroach-Devil tries to overpower Denji but fails miserably, he tries to use hostages just like in the manga, but Denji goes straight for the kill. As the dust settles Denji calms down and sees the damage and loss of life which causes his mood to go down. Suddenly he hears the calls of a dangling cat and just as the cat is about to fall off the broken roof Denji picks it up and mutters:
We now cut to a reporter broadcasting the aftermath of the Chainsaw-Man vs Cockroach-Devil battle. She starts talking about how Devil sightings and attacks have become more frequent these past few weeks and while Public-Safety seems to be doing very little if anything about it, for unknown or undisclosed reasons, citizens can still rely on Chainsaw-Man. At least they thought they could since Chainsaw-Man activity and sightings have dropped these past few weeks and the times he does appear it’s just to dispatch high tier Devils capable of destroying cities and maybe saving a civilian or two, but when it comes to normal street-level threats Chainsaw-Man rarely if ever appears and leaves citizens to their own devices which has caused a lot of negative opinions about Chainsaw-Man. And now they’re gonna get a firsthand opinion on what the public thinks about Chainsaw-Man by interviewing a certain blond boy with shark teeth and blood red eyes. Denji’s not alone though, he’s out here with Nayuta who he just picked up from school and can be seen in the background at the playground. Denji is significantly more tired, has baggy eyelids and generally looks depressed but a smile starts to grow when he starts talking about how cool Chainsaw-Man is and all his good deeds when suddenly Asa carrying Yuko can be seen in the background. Denji’s interview is cut short as the news reporter and camera man call for help. The reporter asks Asa what happened to her and her friend. Out of breath Asa starts explaining how they’re working for Public-Safety’s student branch and they were trying to kill the Bat-Devil before Chainsaw-Man destroyed the building they were in. She hands them out a card with the number for Public-Safety medical services. As some people start calling the number the reporter asks Asa if she and her friend were saved by Chainsaw-Man from the Cockroach-Devil. Asa stares at them with maddened eyes before shouting at them.
Saved us? He left us! He just killed the Devil without caring about the people around him! He didn’t even stay to save civilians afterwards.
So you’re saying “Chainsaw-Man” “The Hero of Hell” abandoned you? Says the reporter. The camera man records everything.
Hero? Says Asa. That ASSHOLE is not a hero. He’s an irresponsible, self-centered, egotistical, sadistic, apathetic, uncaring MONSTER who kills things for fun. He’s not doing it to protect the city! He’s doing it because it boasts his ego.
That’s not true! Says Nayuta from the slide she just used. She starts closing the gap between her and Asa and starts speaking to the camera man.
Chainsaw-Man is a hero! Says Nayuta, He stops the bad guys from destroying the city and killing people. If it weren’t for him Tokyo would be hell on earth, riddled with super strong Devils that not even Public-Safety or the military could handle. Besides, if he liked killing so much then why isn’t he killing people like every other Devil.
The host of the War-Devil scowled at the defiance of the reincarnated Control-Devil and refutes her facts.
Well if he’s such a hero then why doesn’t he stay to help people? Why does he leave after every battle?
Because he gets tired from fighting super strong Devils and goes to rest, duh. I’d like to see YOU fight super strong Devils every day all over the city.
Well why does he only fight strong Devils? Why doesn’t he fight the weak ones too?
Because he has other things to do. Like taking care of the house, 7 dogs, Nyako, going to school, putting food on the table and getting money. He’s not getting paid for this, you know? So he’s gotta find ways to make money. Also no one is forcing him to be Chainsaw-Man, he’s doing it because he cares about the city.
Asa’s rage reaches a point where her coherent thoughts are spoken in an incomprehensible way. From the countless curses and slurs that come from her mouth she asks one final question.
How? How do you know this? How could you possibly know this?
I know it because Chainsaw-Man is my brother. Says Nayuta as she points at Denji.
The crowed watches Denji. After staring at him for a moment some cooing could be heard coming from the crowed, a few giggles as well but most were silent. Asa’s rage has reached her limit and she glares at Nayuta.
This is why I hate Chainsaw-Man fans, those delusional bastards will defend that animal for everything he does. To you he’s this perfect man that does no wrong but at the end of the day he’s just a Devil driven by his primal instincts.
As Asa finishes her statement she’s pulled aside and into the ambulance Yuko has been loaded. The vehicle starts and heads towards the nearest hospital. As it leaves everyone dissipates and goes about their day. Nayuta is angered by the fact that no one believed her but Denji interjects and calms her down with soothing words. As Denji thanks her for defending him and not using her powers for such a trivial matter they hug and reaffirm their sibling/parental bond. As they’re hugging Yoshida appears and tries to start a conversation with him. With an indifferent face Denji calls him Octopus-Guy and states that he can’t converse at this time, stating that he must return home and cook food for his family. Yoshida offers to buy them food. This convinces Nayuta which in turn convinces Denji.
They reach a caffe and while ordering food Yoshida tries to make small talk which falls on deaf ears as Denji and Nayuta continue looking at their menus and order their food. While waiting for their orders Yoshida reveals that Public-Safety has been in a rough spot lately. Ever since Makima’s betrayal and murder their employee numbers have dropped significantly, everyone has been working overtime, their leadership and coordination and management has been greatly impaired and they’re looking for anybody willing to work for them. He offers Denji a spot, telling him that the pay and benefits would be worth it. Denji just stares at him with a blank face and says, “uh huh”. Denji asks if this is Public-Safety’s way of saying “we’re sorry” for not doing anything against the assassins that came for Denji in the months following Makima’s death and having sent Quanxi to kill him only for her to fail miserably or is this their “Plan B” to control/contain him. Yoshida simply states that he has absolutely no idea what he’s talking about and that they’d never do such things to which Denji replies with another “uh huh”. Denji asks about what Public-Safety would expect of him and what kind of freedoms he’d gain or lose and Yoshida would try to embellish the idea that he’d be under Public-Safety’s orders and he’d have to do everything they tell him to do when they tell him to do it such as only turning into Chainsaw-Man on specific situations and only fight and/or kill whoever they order him to. As the food arrives Denji asks what would happen if he couldn’t do a certain order or if he’d choose to disobey one to which Yoshida replies by taking away their utensils, saying that they’d have to say goodbye to their current life to which Nayuta responds by controlling him and ordering him to give them back their utensils and to not do anything until they’re done eating. Once they finish Nayuta releases Yoshida and Denji simply says that there’s NO WAY he’d ever go back to Public-Safety.
What if I told you that you don’t have a choice? Says Yoshida. What if I told you that it’s illegal to have a contract with a Devil and live with one without Public Safety’s permission and the fact that you’re responsible for so much property damage as well as loss of life and the fact that the both of you are using Devil powers in public is punishable by DEATH.
Uh Oh, threatening Nayuta right in front of Denji, WRONG DECISION YOSHIDA
The fruits of Yoshida’s labors take the form of Denji tele-transporting beside him and to start chocking him. As Denji is about to rip Yoshida’s head clean off a familiar tall old man with a certain nervous girl for an assistant enter the restaurant and yells Denji’s name. Denji quickly releases the neck of the Octopus-Contractee and Kishibe reprimands Yoshida for his approach. After a short argument which ends with Yoshida storming off Kishibe gives Kobeni some money and asks her to order some food for them which she happily obliges and as she does Kishibe sits down and has a LONG-AWAITED conversation with his best student. There’s a long stretch of silence which is broken by Denji asking a simple question:
Where were you old man?
I was busy, says Kishibe.
Busy doing what exactly?
Important stuff.
More important than keeping an eye on me and Nayuta every once in a while? More important than just checking if we needed any help? Like paying bills, taking care of a house and 7 dogs and a cat and a little girl, making sure everyone is well fed and clothed and happy, not getting killed by assassins every day. MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAT OLD MAN!!!
Denji’s fuming and there are clear signs of stress and depression due to the responsibilities and things he’s had to do without any help or support these past few months. Kishibe tries to de-escalate the situation saying that Yoshida was right about Public-Safety being in a tough spot due to the employee shortage and everyone working overtime, him being one of said employees working overtime, however, due to some…disagreements…and due to Kishibe’s health and age he’s been demoted to a much more calmer section of Public-Safety involving planning, reconnaissance, clean-up, documentation, filing and other office/“away from the action” jobs which has prevented him from talking with Denji and Nayuta these past few months. Denji asks what’s with Kobeni and her less nervous attitude. Kishibe says that she’s been his assistant ever since his demotion and she’s been doing a lot better after her “death” and cutting all past ties. She’s been very helpful, specially when it came to finding out the date the world is gonna end. Right on cue Kobeni returns with her and Kishibe’s food and as they both start eating Kishibe continues talking about the impending doom. He explains that after doing certain experiments with the Future-Devil he was able to find out that humanity and all life on earth would cease to exist in late 1999. Denji asks what causes all this loss of life to which Kishibe gives him the same answer the Future-Devil gave him…”DEATH-DEVIL is coming”
Kishibe starts explaining how Public-Safety is trying to get their hands on everything they can in order to stop this apocalyptic event, from powerful devils and devil-hunters to convincing other countries to joining their cause. They’ve been mostly successful on everything except for the last part, the most prominent examples being the Soviet Union and the United States due to their self interests and the current battles in the Alaskan front. Denji spaces out due to the mention of the Soviet Union and the fact that he’s in a caffe brings back certain…memories. Kishibe brings Denji back to reality by telling him that he along with Public-Safety are in a really tough spot and could really use his help. Kishibe, just like Yoshida, tries to offer Denji a job position in Public-Safety and he would NOT embellish the fact that there’ll be moments Denji would have to do things he wouldn’t want to do, that he’d under HEAVY supervision and that they’d be a bit too interested in Nayuta. He tries to counterbalance it by saying that he’d try his best to help him out. Denji just starts reminiscing about his time in Public-Safety and all the good moments he had with Aki and Power and the team but he’d quickly remember about how cruel and strict Public-Safety had been with him, about what’s happened these past few months and Public-Safety’s indifference to his and Nayuta’s situation, and speaking of Nayuta he’d remember what Kishibe told him about how Public-Safety would try to mold her into another Makima.
I’m sorry old man, says Denji. I really am, but I can’t go back. Public-Safety is just…it’s shit man and I really don’t wanna be on a leash again and possibly lose the few things I’ve got by making an honest mistake.
I understand, says Kishibe. But we can’t just let you run around with no supervision. He calls out to the caffe entrance and 2 women walk in. One is a familiar white-haired woman with an eye patch. The other is a stranger with an energetic and cheerful and uncomfortable gaze.
Hey old hag, says Denji, ready for round two?
You got lucky Chainsaw-Boy, says Quanxi.
Uh huh, it’s not like I got jumped while crossing the street. That definitely didn’t happen.
Kick that granny’s ass again Denji, says Nayuta.
Kishibe tries to maintain the peace and explains how Quanxi and her assistant Fumiko will be right beside him, keeping him in check with Quanxi taking care of Devils near him outside of school while Fumiko will be taking care of Devils inside the school. This is how they’ll be operating since Quanxi can’t pass for a student or a teacher in Denji’s school while Fumiko can. While Kishibe’s explaining this Fumiko gets a little too comfortable with Denji and touches him just like in the manga.
Why is it always the weird ones that are hot, Denji thinks to himself. Once everything’s in order and everyone understand what their role is and what it’s gonna be like these next few days Denji and Nayuta leave the caffe followed by Fumiko and Quanxi.
And Denji, Kishibe calls out and Denji turns to look at him, be careful. Denji nods knowing that things are gonna get serious and leaves the caffe. As they leave Yoshida reappears from the dark and sits beside Kishibe.
You told him too much, says Yoshida. The higher ups are not gonna like this.
I don’t care what the higher ups like or don’t like, says Kishibe. It’s because of them and for not treating that boy with the smallest amount of decency or respect that got us in this mess. Besides you really thought I could lie to the guy who defeated the greatest lier in history? That boy can smell a lie from a mile away. Kishibe continues eating while Yoshida contemplates what he said.
You’ve got a lot of faith in him for someone who doesn’t even trust his own shadow.
Why wouldn’t I have faith in him? He saved the world. And I have faith that he’ll do it again…in the most unorthodox way possible.
Criticisms of Part 2/Why I made these changes:
Alright that’s what I’ve got. The dialogue and actually writing everything was the hard part but I had a lot of fun writing this and I’ve already got an outline for the whole story and ending. And before you ask: NO. Reze will NOT come back…I’m sorry. She was cut to pieces just like Denji was in the manga and they put all her pieces in boxes and they sent these boxes to different places around Japan and no one knows where they are. And I’ll also leave crumbs to AsaDen fans because that's what Fujimoto did and wanted Denji to end up alone…that heartless bastard.
But now it’s time for the criticisms and why I rewrote these first chapters like this. I know what you’re all thinking “YOU CHANGED CRITICAL PLOT POINTS” “NO THIS SHOULDN’T HAPPEN” or “YOU’RE RUINING THE STORY” and “YOU DON’T GET THE MESSAGE” and I’m here to tell you that it’s okay if you don’t like the changes I’ve made but at least hear me out as I explain WHY I made said changes:
How does saving Bucky prevent Asa from becoming the War-Devil's host?!?!
1. The first big change was Bucky's death because, according to the manga, Bucky’s death served as the only trigger for Asa becoming Yoru’s host…
that’s it considering when left alive at the end of the manga we’re led to believe that Asa won’t go through the staircase of depression and won’t become Yoru’s host. Some people will say that it was actually the teacher's death that led to Asa’s life being better…I disagree, considering Fujimoto gave more emphasis to Bucky’s survival instead of making a scene where…oh I don’t know, Denji saves Asa’s life in the alley where the class president is supposed to kill her. If such a scene existed, then Bucky dying would only act as another step on Asa’s stair to depression instead of acting like the entire staircase. Instead Bucky’s death is the only reason why Asa became Yoru’s host…which I believe is idiotic and makes no GODDAMN sense. So in order to fix this we’ll be keeping Bucky alive, why bother killing Bucky when he’s gonna live in the end, let him act as another point of Devils being accepted into normal everyday life and remove the whole “Bucky was the only reason Asa turned into Yoru’s host” thing and focus more on how something out of Asa’s control and being with the wrong people led to hear death and becoming Yoru’s host.
DO YOU OR DO YOU NOT CARE?!?! MAKE UP YOUR MIND MAN!!!
2. The second big change was Denji’s mentality and honestly it’s confusing if Fujimoto wanted Denji to feel guilty or not when bystanders or innocents died or if he wanted to be Chainsaw-Man because he wanted to be famous or because he genuinely wanted to help people and his mind just changes constantly to the point that there's no consistency. So I oversimplified everything by just making it that Denji does feel sadness when there’s loss of life but he’ll always prioritize killing the Devil first, can’t exactly save people when the source of death and destruction is running away from you. In other words the longer it takes you to kill the Devil the more loss of life there’ll be so Denji just goes straight for the kill. It's hard for him and the loss of life is obviously eating him from the inside but its thanks to Nayuta and his normal life that grounds him and makes him feel better. And before you ask “why doesn’t he stop being Chainsaw-Man if it’s hurting him then?”…my brother in Christ Public-Safety can no longer do their job properly because of the employee shortage and even then these Devils are too powerful for them, they need Denji’s help and Denji killing these Devils also helps him and Nayuta considering that they LITERALLY LIVE HERE. If a Devil is rampaging in the area What are the chances that it crosses paths with Nayuta? Denji can’t take that chance so him being Chainsaw-Man for her safety and for her sake is completely logical and valid.
HOW THE HELL DID YOU GUYS COME BACK?!?!
DO YOU OR DO YOU NOT WORK TOGETHER?!?!
3. The third big change was making Public-Safety be the one to offer the Fire-Devil contracts instead of the Chainsaw-Man-Church. Fujimoto never explains if the Fire-Devil planned for Asa to become Yoru’s host or if Kiga was controlling Fire-Devil from the start since they both work for the Chainsaw-Man-Church and even then Kiga had to recontrol Fire-Devil or Fakesaw-Man and Fire-Devil yet again breaks out of her control after Denji defeats him.
Is Fire-Devil immune to mind control or something?!?!
Almost as if he’s immune to Kiga’s control. And then we have the fact that whenever Barem and the other Hybrid bums are caught by Public-Safety they just reappear free and ready to cause more chaos. Also whenever Barem appears Public-Safety is always right around the corner and vice-versa and the more infuriating part about all of this is the fact that many Chainsaw-Man-Church members have information only Public-Safety should know and vice versa.
Why is Public-Safety helping the Chainsaw-Man-Church but deem them enemies???
It’s almost as if Public-Safety and the Chainsaw-Man-Church were working together from the start which makes all these attempts to hinder one and other and lose people to these battles all the more idiotic.
Why kill Chainsaw-Man-Church members and lose Devil-Hunters doing it if you're working together?!?!
So my solution to all of this is simple…Chainsaw-Man-Church doesn’t exist and it’s just Public-Safety in this new story. Which logically makes more sense since Public-Safety, being a government body, can and should make the Apocalypse known to the public and organize and take measures in order to prepare for the catastrophe.
Where are the important characters???
4. The fourth and final big change was trimming the fat because there’s A LOT OF FAT. Part 2 is 38 chapters longer than Part 1 and many of the plot points and arcs in Part 2 are just repetitions of the last one and it gets incredibly boring and repetitive. Arcs and plot points feel like giant circles and every antagonist feels like a “villain of the week” or “cannon fodder” whereas Part 1 had unique villains in each arc and they all contributed to the next arc. Speaking of Part 1 the fact that important characters, such as Kishibe and Reze, didn’t appear in Part 2 greatly affected the world building and consistency of their characters to the point that previously established traits in Part 1 are now questioned and reinterpreted by reading Part 2 so my job was to give them justifiable reasons for them no longer being able to do what they wish due to the constraints the world has placed for them.
Fujimoto...I don't know if you're a genius who lost his passion...or an idiot who got lucky
So yeah. Those are most of my criticisms of Part 2 along with my solutions, at least in the first few chapters. As I've said before I already got the outline for this Part 2 rewrite, all I've got to do is actually write the conversations but depending on whether people like this post or not will determine if I'll write it somewhere so you guys can read it.
It's just that Chainsaw-Man Part 1 was a really cool and interesting story and I loved Denji but ever since Part 2 started I felt like something was...off...I tried to give it a chance with every new chapter but that feeling just kept growing and growing and once the last chapter dropped I felt...vindicated as well as disappointed. It's just...it was THAT easy Fujimoto.
WE HAD A GOOD THING YOU STUPID SON OF A BITCH!!! WE HAD PART 1, WE HAD GOOD CHARACTERS WITH GOOD WORLD BUILDING!!!
You had an interesting premise in Part 2 and could've written a great story. You could've developed Asa into something interesting and given Denji the help he so desperately needed with Part 1 characters
BUT NO!!! YOU HAD TO WATCH "THE BIG LEBOWSKI" AND NOT UNDERSTAND IT!!!
YOU AND YOUR THEMES AND SUCH!!! You just wanted Denji to suffer and fail
If you'd given Denji a satisfying ending we'd all be FINE right now...*sigh*
SHE'S JUST HAVING SOME WHOLESOME FUN WITH DENJI THAT'S ALL
BE NICE TO HER
She's just reinforcing the beautiful and wholesome relationship they've built together
Source: IDK please help me
They deserved SO MUCH MORE.
Too bad Fujimoto is such a bad writer to the point that he can't even give a decent ending to the characters that deserved it the most.
Oh well...at least they're happy in the alternate timeline where they met as kids and will grow up to love each other with all their heart.

We all know Denji's canonically a GREAT cook and considering Reze never really had any good food in her childhood and had to resort to simple street food or having to cook for herself (which she isn’t so good at because she hasn't practiced cooking) I think she'd ADORE Denji's food. Maybe a little too much. But don't worry, they stay in shape by doing A LOT of exercise.
Ladies and gentlemen I feel it my duty to inform you that we have been BLESSED by none other than RezeLover25: https://x.com/rezelover25/status/2069873491474891174?s=20
There's a new member in the family and I hope that their lives will be filled with joy and happiness from then on out.
PLEASE send some love and support to the artist, he's very good at it.
I bring you fine gentlemen a classic art piece, pre-Part 2 no less, made by a very talented artist named erupusai2.
I hope you boys like it.
You might not believe me but this comic was posted in this sub LONG BEFORE any of you boys came in.
About 9-10 months ago I laid my eyes on this comic for the first time in this sub.
BLOOD WAS SPILLED ON THAT DAY
No one will admit but...something changed in this sub after that day; but oh well, it's in the past now. All we can do now is keep the fire in the fire place and make sure it doesn't get out.
I've been seeing A LOT of art being posted by YOU about a certain red-headed BITCH who just so happens to ALWAYS be in a position to humiliate the best girl...
I don't wanna jump to conclusions here...after all, this IS a civilized subreddit about loving and respecting the best girl who should've ended up with the love of her life...
Except...
I haven't seen you RESPECTING the best girl with your most recent posts...
(This is a joke post everyone, please don't take this seriously)

I know things are getting a bit stale and I know one day (maybe late 2026-early 2027) Chainsaw-Man and all its communities will be forgotten or turn into barren sub-reddits...but until that happens I'll be here sharing art pieces, such as this one (Very early Part 2 era)
Maybe not as SPECTACULAR as the fireworks...but...definitely more beautiful, even more so when the best girl is there too.
