Can’t you just hit a button?

Customer made a check deposit and wants it NOW. Asked me to “hit a button” to release it. I can see in notes he called yesterday and we already told him when it will be available.

These idiotic customer don’t take the time to think. Why would a bank with millions of customers give call center employees the ability to “press a button” and have funds available immediately. There is so much fraud in the world why would they do that?? And in what world do you deposit a check and get the funds right away.

FLMA or Short Term Disability.

Can any of you that have taken either tell me how to go about getting it or how to get approved?

So my company has a third party that they use and where I would send the documents to but I just started going to therapy recently ( three months ) I’ve expressed my anxiety with my job but I’m not sure how to go about bringing it up or if I should be seeing a psychiatrist instead? I’m just asking for any tips/tricks because I want to get this process started soon I’m not sure how much longer I can take before rage quitting.

Edit : I have been at my employer 2 and a half years and the time I miss is when I call in.

People who make statements instead of asking a question.

Customer: I just realized that my mobile deposit was declined. I threw that check away.

Me: silence

Customer: silence

Me: You would need to get with the issuer of the check and have them reissue so you can resubmit check.

Also people who complain about fees without ever asking can you waive them.

Longest Call

Just finished one for 1 hour and 30 mins which has been my longest call in my call center experience. It was a simple password reset but elderly customer was having issue coming up with a password. I enjoyed the break lol but what has been your longest call?

Sending love and light ✨

Monday is Mondaying lol but I’m trying to remain positive. I hope you all have a good Monday and even better rest of your week.

Comment the most interesting call you’ve had today.

My calls have been pretty standard. Typical Monday issues, people making check deposits Saturday/Sunday and wondering “ why it hasn’t cleared yet “

Weekend Callers

Caller upset that he has not received his direct deposit.

Caller : I checked my school app and it says my refund was sent today.

Me: We only receive direct deposits M-F.

Caller: This is a bank issue and I’m tired of y’all playing with my money!!! I am talking to an AI agent and there is nothing you can do to help me.

disconnects call

  1. I don’t sound like AI
  2. Why do customers think they are getting the same level of service on a weekend as they would on a weekday.

I like working weekends though because I mostly am telling them to call back tomorrow ( Monday ) lol

Rant

Another rant because I feel like only you guys understand.

Customers who get upset they don’t get the answer they want.

I CANNOT stand customers who think because they transfer from savings to checking before EACH transaction they “keep up with their account”

Spent thirty minutes explaining to a 50 year old man that just because your card was authorized for a certain amount does not mean it will be posted for that amount.

You make a transaction at restaurant they will authorize your card for whatever the receipt says and when it POST it will post for whatever the receipt says PLUS TIP. Of course this idiot believes the bank is stealing money instead of him not wanting to admit he cannot do simple math. I hate these calls where I’m over explaining something simple because you cannot accept the fact you are wrong and cannot do simple math!!!!!

First call of the day

Customer upset we did not reach out to them personally regarding a dispute. Sometimes when a customer has a dispute they need documentation which we will ask for via email and give them a date when they need to return it by. OF COURSE these grown adults “don’t check their email” so claimed is denied. Then they call back screaming that account is over drafted because we reversed credit provided and it’s our fault because we did not contact them personally!

GROW UP omg it’s way too early for this !!

Non customers

Crazy lady completely irate she received a marketing letter from our bank that she is not apart of. I advised that if she is willing to provide her address I can request she stop receiving mail from us. Not enough. She wants to know how we got her data and saying this a serious matter and I’m not taking it serious enough for her. Lady I don’t know. I just realized her screaming at me is probably the most exciting part of her miserable day. I also searched her address just to make sure it was not affiliated and of course it wasn’t.

Gen Z vs Boomers

I will start by saying I am 27 but I feel like I’m more of a millennial lol . I normally see a lot of post about boomers but some of these younger Gen Z kids are just as annoying (18-21). I just had one say “ can’t you just click a button “ after asking me was I AI 😂😂😂😂

1,000 calls in Que.

I’m not even over exaggerating we’ve had over 1000 calls in Que consistently for MONTHS!!! The last time we had VTO was in early January. I am literally in tears right now but I need this job to survive. I keep fantasizing walking out but idk how much more I can take. I try to be positive but I’m mentally drained . It’s been almost three years at this company.

Wishing all of you a peaceful Monday!

I know after a long weekend the calls are going to be brutal today so I’m wishing you all well :) I’m at a bank call center so I know I’m going to be asked one million times about checks that have not cleared lol.

Are you working from home?

I don’t know why this question triggers me from customers? They usually can tell because they don’t hear background noise.

I want to know why that matters. Unfortunately this is not a WFH job where you can just sit and do nothing or move around I’m literally stuck at my desk answering back to back calls!!!!

Transferring Customers

Quick Rant lol.

Why when you tell the customer you have to transfer them they ask “ well how long is the wait I’ve already been on hold 20 mins “

Does it really matter? Either you wait to get your issue resolved or hang up. I’ve assisted you with what I can now you need to speak to someone else if you can’t wait try chat or going inside of bank!

I understand it may be frustrating with long hold times but there is literally nothing we can do about that!

It’s saying that’s it’s wrong and it’s not wrong

Customer getting “error” that username and password is incorrect. Asking me why is it saying that and he has it saved so he knows it isn’t wrong.

I asked did he want me to just reset the password and he says no he knows what he is entering is correct and that it is just something wrong with our system.

In his mind he believes he is entering the correct username and password and our “system” is purposely not allowing him in with the “correct” information.

I keep telling myself that I only have a few hours left, not in the mood for this ridiculousness today.

Talk me out of leaving early

lol we have been back to back for months. We haven’t had VTO since middle of last year. I have been posting more because this job is draining me. Good news is I recently got accepted to college so I have that to look forward to. I want to leave at 12

Adults bragging about not checking emails.

We sent over xyz on 0/00/00 via email.

“I don’t check my emails”

Ok. ✅ is there anything else I can assist with?
