AITA for wanting to exchange my birthday gift from my wife?

For months I’ve been talking about getting a new monitor for my computer. I have a 27 inch 75hz Ben Q I purchased back in 2018. Ive loved it but everything in my computer set up has changed except that. Ive been looking for sales and contemplating what Ive wanted for a while but Ive known I definitely want something bigger, a higher refresh rate would be nice and color accuracy at least somewhat matters to me. I am not a dual monitor kinda guy. At some point my father said he might be able to get me one of the ultra wide curved monitors from his work but that fell through. So here I am and it’s my birthday and I never in a million years expected it, but my wife got me a monitor. Its an off brand monitor of the same size as my current one, with a 200hz refresh rate and it is curved. I think curved monitors are silly unless they are ultra wide and I do not really like it more than what I have currently. I was genuinely impressed and grateful that she got me something Ive been wanting, but I really felt wrong to just kinda let her gift secretly be wasted when I replace it later. Should I have loathed this monitor in silence and bit my tongue and just used it? Forgetting my dreams of a bigger nicer monitor? Anyways what I did is I expressed my gratitude but then asked if we could exchange the monitor and I’ll cover the difference but it hurt her feelings and Im “turning my gift into an inconvenience”.

(If anyone watches big bang theory they might understand. Theres an episode where Amy buys Sheldon a new laptop. At first he is upset because it’s a private ritual in his eyes to buy a new computer, making sure it has all the specs he wants but in the end Amy had luckily picked one out that was to his liking.)
