A toast post to the real ones

Spoilers:

Found family is a big theme of this game. I'm content with the ending. Going back for ND-5 was great, he was more important to Kay than any "big score". The semi-repaired relationship with Riko, without being the central focus, worked for me. Kay's indifference towards her mother feels fair, something many of us have experienced. A "rescue Nix" was nice, helped to cement Kay's love for him into the story a little.

But this post isn't about all that really. I've just finished the main story, and just wanted to toast these characters and the writer's getting it right. Hell yeah.

Help with moving and handling

Tl;dr:

How to safely lift this dog? How to stop her jumping out of her wagon?

My mum's dog, a Romanian rescue, had her front right leg amputated due to a prior injury a few years ago. Recently, she snapped a ligament in her back left leg and is awaiting surgery to have this repaired. She can hobble about okay, but we don't want her putting any extra strain on her legs. Another leg injury could mean the end of her quality of life.

My mum bought a wagon/cart thing to take her out in so she still gets outdoor time. The problem is getting her in and out of the cart safely. I went over today for a trial run and I can just about lift her in and out, but it's strain on my back,l and she wriggles. This would be unwise for my mum to do on her own.

The other problem is she tend to try and jump out of the cart unpredictably and I had to kinda gently hold her in to avoid her doing further damage to herself. Once we got to her favourite spot, she happily sat on the grass and chilled, it's just getting her in and out of her little transport, and the journey there, that poses challenges.

So:

What is the best cart/wagon/buggy for a dog this size that she can't jump out of?

Is there a sling/harness ideal for lifting her safely without hurting her legs or choking her?

Any DIY tips are also welcome, if we have to re-purpose her current harness or cart, we can do that.

She needs recovery time after the surgery also, so we could be looking at over a month whereby she will need support. Ideally we would like to get to the point where my mum cans safely handle this on her own.

Perhaps an oddly specific request, idk. I am not a dog owner, I have no experience, I am just trying to help out my mum and her pooch.

Thanks everyone.

Unacceptable

These stairs are so unbelievably unsafe. One trip and you're falling 8ft headfirst into the road. What were they thinking? I will be sending my complaints to the San Van local council immediately. I implore all San Vanians to dk the same.

Tips for my wife's first 5k please

My wife is in good shape, and she's been training for a few months now. Her first 5k is next week.

  1. One of her main issues is her legs get tired. When I used to run, I don't recall my legs getting tired? I mean I'd gas out sure but my cardio would exhaust before my legs. Is this just a skinny legs issue, or is there perhaps a technique issue that's causing her legs to tire?

  2. She also has a bit of a fear around needing the toilet in public spaces. She struggles to stay adequately hydrated as the worry about needing to pee while out and about is quite distressing for her.

  3. Any other tips to help her run the full 5k no stopping, improve her time, or just have a more comfortable time with it.

I am no runner so i cant really help her out. Any noob advice you guys have for an ambitious beginner would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone.
