I could not be more disappointed. SPOILERS

Just finished the series….

I could not have loved and appreciated the concept of a show more than this. So as we binged and binged, we kept talking about where it could end up.

To have it end with this complete BULLSHIT ending made this one of the worst shows I have ever watched.

* other than inspiration, there was next to zero effect on the base reality?

* in what fucking world would all those people go from a reality where Hitler lost to a world where zero reference to their passing into the shit world makes sense?

*and why the fuck would they walk through the portal like, “oh! This is a cool train station”.

GTFOH.

IM A SCI-FI NERD and this shit was AWFUL.

Roz update!

One month after removing her from a severe pecking situation, Roz is doing amazing!
We have never had chickens before, but when my baby momma showed us what was happening to her with her flock that had suddenly turned, we got a coop, med, watched a ton of videos and reached out to this group for advice on how to get her back to health.

A steady diet of high protein and good pellets along with about 3-4 hours of free range time a day, affection and space and she looks sooooo much better. Her feathers look like we should get at least 90% of her feathers back and she really has become a sweetheart. While not jumping up on our laps-understandable after what she went through-she come right up to all of us, loves a soft rub under her beak and she has become a mealworms addict! lol.

Any suggestions to continue to help her recovery?

Little pecked silkie finally feeling safe.

Been helping rehab this little girl from a bad pecking situation. Sat her on my lap and she started going down as soon as I rubbed her chest.
She is the sweetest thing and just a week later she has so much more life.

4 days since removal from severe pecking. What resilient little animals!

Have not been a chicken person, but this little one is wrapping me around her little toe, talon, whatever. Lol.
This is Roz. She is one of 5 chickens and was obviously being pecked on an extreme level.

She is part of a small flock with my daughter’s mom. We have all been worried about her and while I didn’t see her every day to this point, she has really started bonding and I think even healing. Her energy is way up, for sure a personality is starting to come through, (funny and goofy) and she is a HUGE fan of grapes, blueberries, and cucumbers.

She even came into my lap the last couple days!!!

We are using a poultry specific antimicrobial spray from TS on her wounds and giving her a ton of love and interaction since she is not with any other chickens right now, getting a good 4-5 hours a day to free range with one of us with her all the time. (Yay remote work)

Any other tips and tricks to help her move along? Also, I have seen so many different time frames before reintroducing her to an adjoining run and cage that mom is getting together.

Thanks!

Help with a silly who has been pecked by her flock. Is this pecking or preening?

DISCLAIMER! I have never bread or had chickens before this so I’m learning on the fly.

Long story with this amazing Chicken Jesus Roz or CJR (rightfully named based of the story and the 6 year old who named her) . My daughter’s mom bought the eggs and incubated them. On the day of hatching, I walked my 6 year old into the house, super excited to see the hatched chickens that started right before she left for school.

When we walked in, we found that the hatching dome thing had been knocked over one chicken had been born out of its eggs while all the others have been knocked off of the counter onto the floor and were 100% dead. This was done by two cats who up until this point have never done this in three different hatching projects.

At that time, the chicken still in the hatching some was not breathing and was surely dead. I took my six-year-old outside to console her from the wailing and screaming. It was a scene, man.

However, when I went back in, CJR was still breathing or started breathing again. She is a little silky and a hardcore fighter! I reassembled the hatchery and sat there with my daughter watching every breathe as the team rose. CJR became the coolest thing in the history of things. She survived and did really well for the first six months.

To make up for the unmatched, mom went to Tractor Supply and got 4 females and one male. The new ones were more traditional in size and in the last few months have turned into total dicks toward CJR. They have pecked the shit out of and messed with her to the point that every time I went to the cage for bus pick up, CJR was hiding in the nesting bins and would flip out every time I went near her. This is out of the ordinary since I’ve been bonded with her and up until a few weeks ago, would at least come to me.

Mom and I looked into the pecking issue and found that the best way to help her was to remove her from the flock, give her a ton of comfort, dark spaces, a stuffed animal, lots of nutrition and treat her wounds. Give her time to work through the trauma and we could either introduce her to a flock that is a better fit, or try to reintegrate her to the other flock (so not doing that lol)

So I built a coop out of stuff I had and some online tutorials then brought her here on Wednesday.

CJR has been here for two days. Yesterday, she came out, explored, sat on my lap, has been eating and drinking plenty etc. All in all it was an amazing 24 hours. She was the same chicken I remember before the pecking.

Today, as I’m on hour 3 of sitting far enough away from the coop not to scare her with the gate open, I’m noticing she is. Doing a lot of this. I have done one saline treatment on her back and will do it daily starting tomorrow.

My concern is she is pulling at her own feathers now due to stress. The goal is to rehab her away from the flock at my place while mom builds a new pen that will be for silkies only and CJR will be the first once she is ok again.

Any advice on how to get this amazing little girl feeling better is greatly appreciated!
