Remembering the late great Patrick Swayze (August 18, 1952 – September 14, 2009)

First time seeing him, was Red Dawn on cable, then his face all over Dirty Dancing promos. Awesome actor.

Who remembers this?

I went to see it in the theater with my friend and her sister. So much fun!

Palpatine (Ian McDirmid) in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988)

I've watched this at least 30 times and never noticed, but my son did. And I literally can't catch watch a movie without pointing out this sort of thing for at least five characters.

Mea culpa: Ian's last named is actually McDiarmid.

A Snapshot Of Sad Sequels: 1980s Edition

While the film sequel has been around since the beginning of films, one can suggest that the 1980s popularized the sequel. Certainly there were a ton of sequels released. This Letterboxd list showcases 20 sequels I watched that I either didn't like, found disappointing or absolutely hated. All opinions on these films are fine but also maybe discuss which franchises you are loyal to...as in, have you seen every sequel to a particular franchise? This list had very few theatrical viewings. In fact, only 3 of the 20 were seen in a theater by me: Beverly Hill Cop II (thumbs down), The Dead Pool (terrible) and Ghostbusters II (disappointed).
