Worse deal, switched, called by Vodafone, still worse deal

So I was with Vodafone for a good few years and was paying higher that what I think I should. No problem, I rang up, was still expensive.

I checked a comparison site by a friend - through the comparison I got £175 pre paid card, the site paid £30 too. So much better deal and £205 upfront.

I then get rang by Vodafone ‘customer retention’ and they offer me a deal which is worse then Vodafone on the comparison site. I mention this and they say nothing they can do.

I’m not mad, I got a better deal and a good sign up bonus. But how can they give one deal for new customers and not for existing customers about to leave? That makes 0 sense in my eyes.

Huge switch incentives?!

I’ve always went direct for broadband but I recently used a comparison site called moneyhq.

I got a better deal by £13 a month, £175 for signing up + moneyhq paid me £30 on top.

My question is how does broadband companies make so much money? I’ve got about 7 months free of WiFi with the bonuses. Is there that much profit in a contract?!
