Buying Advice - Considering Xiaomi Wanbo T2 Ultra / Wanbo Cube 2 Pro

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new projector.

First, I had an Ultimea Apollo P40, but I have to agree: it's Chinese junk. After a couple of months, there was already a major failure – the power button turned on, stayed like that for a millisecond, and then shut down. This repeated itself. I looked it up and it is a common issue: a broken capacitor. I can repair it, but when I watch movies later on, it will always be in the back of my mind that it could randomly shut off because it has cheap parts.

So, I want to buy a new projector. My budget is $200. And before anyone says all projectors in that price range are "toys": yes, I know. But I just don't need the best of the best. I'm watching in a dark room, I don't need a very big screen, and I don't need the best speakers – I just want it to work without any failures.

I have a small bedroom. The maximum projection size on my wall is around 70", but I don't need it that big. I have a small shelf on the wall opposite it, where I can put it. It's around 78 inches from the projection wall.

I did some research and came across the Wanbo T2 Ultra and Wanbo Cube 2 Pro. There are 3 options:

  • Wanbo T2 Ultra (New) - $205
  • Wanbo Cube 2 Pro (New) - $205
  • Wanbo Cube 2 Pro (Refurbished) - $182

I actually live in the Netherlands, but I’ve converted the prices.

I'm torn between which one to buy, but I think I am going with the Wanbo T2 Ultra. It's just a bit better in terms of speaker quality, contrast, and HDR.

Do any of you have experience with these models? And how will they compare to my Ultimea Apollo P40?

Thanks.

Sim Racing Setup - Buying Advice

I'm looking to build a complete sim racing setup, and I want to get the absolute best value for my money. I have a Windows PC.

Budget (split into separate amounts):

  • €200
  • €50
  • €50
  • €60

These are separate amounts, so I can't simply combine them into one budget.

I could potentially go €10–20 over budget if it's really worth it, but I'd rather not.

I'm looking for:

  • A steering wheel
  • Pedals
  • Rig/cockpit
  • Shifter (optional, but only if it fits within the budget)

I don't want cheap, unreliable gear. I'd rather buy quality products that are sturdy, reliable, and have a good upgrade path.

Please consider:

  • Current deals, bundles, cashback offers, and discounts (especially on official manufacturer websites like Logitech, where they sometimes include a free shifter, discounts with more products or other extras)
  • Used options only if they offer significantly better value, though I strongly prefer new. I would only consider used if my requirements can't be met with new gear.

I'd love to hear your recommendations. Thanks!
