Rescue leachies
(tl:dr at bottom) I recently ended up with two leachie geckos 1 male 1 female that are approx. 2 years old. Long story short they were being neglected by crack heads, kept in a 40gal fish aquarium, and when police raided the home for drugs and other evidence they found the lizards now they’ve ended up with me after a month long hold by the police. They’ve been kept together their entire lives and the girl has definitely laid eggs before. I worry about keeping them together for the safety of them both seeing as their still slightly underweight but would it be inhumane is separate them now? how strong are pair bonds with leachies? I know this sounds silly but they seem to cuddle and enjoy eachother😂 in the 3 weeks i’ve had them i’ve noticed no fighting or attempts from the male to over breed. What would you all do?
tl:dr- should i separate a bonded pair of leachies that have never been apart?
