PGWP Extension Paper Application – Need Advice

Hey everyone,

I need some help with my PGWP extension.

My Situation:

· Graduated – eligible for 3-year PGWP.
· Got only 3-month PGWP (expires Sept 18, 2026) because passport was expiring.
· Renewed passport and applied for extension by paper to Edmonton on June 23, 2026 (delivered June 25).

Issues:

  1. GCKey says "Already Associated" but application NOT showing in dashboard. How long to appear?
  2. SIN expires Sept 17, 2026. Can I still work on Maintained Status?
  3. How to explain Maintained Status to employers?

Timeline:

· Applied: June 23, 2026
· PGWP Expiry: Sept 18, 2026
· SIN Expiry: Sept 17, 2026

Any advice or similar experiences? Really appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Interview went perfectly, but hiring manager ghosted after missed deadline. What now?

Had a great interview for a tech role. The technical lead literally said "I have no questions, you answered everything." They asked about my availability and explained benefits. Seemed like a home run.

Hiring manager said they'd get back to me by the end of the week. That deadline came and went—no reply.

I followed up. He apologized, blamed vacations, and said "we'll get back to you as soon as possible." No new date given.

I've initiated every single email. They've never proactively reached out once.

Am I the backup candidate? Is this a soft rejection? Should I just move on?

Honest advice appreciated.

Interview went perfectly, hiring manager gave a deadline, but the deadline passed and I heard nothing. What now?

Hi everyone,

I need some honest advice. I interviewed for a tech role at a manufacturing company on July 14.

Here is how the interview went:

· The technical lead asked me several questions. After I answered, he literally said: "I don't have any questions, he gave everything answer." He had zero follow-up questions.
· They explained the benefits package (medical/dental/vision) to me.
· They asked about my availability / start date.

After the interview:

· I sent a thank-you email. The hiring manager replied within 12 hours (next morning at 7:49 AM) saying: "Thank you as well. We will be back to you."
· I sent a polite follow-up email on July 20. He replied within 2.5 hours saying: "We are reviewing and we will be back to you by the end of this week."

The deadline he gave me was "by the end of this week."

It is now Saturday, July 25. I heard nothing on Friday.

Here is where I am confused:

· The hiring manager emailed me on a Sunday before (to schedule the interview). So I know he works on weekends.
· The job posting is still active on multiple job boards, with "Posted Today" or "Posted 2 Days Ago" tags. I see duplicate copies of the same job.

My questions:

  1. Since he emailed me on a Sunday before, is it possible he meant Sunday (July 26) as his "end of the week"?
  2. Should I email him again on Monday if I hear nothing on Sunday?
  3. Does the job posting still being active mean they are still looking, or is it just auto-renewal?

Extra context: I am currently employed, so I told them I would need to give a 2-week notice. I also told them I was flexible on salary based on responsibilities.

Any honest feedback would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have no questions, he gave everything answer." Still got "we will be back by end of week." Good or bad?

Had an interview July 14. Tech lead had zero follow-up questions because I answered everything perfectly. They asked about my start date and explained benefits. Hiring manager replied to my thank-you in 12 hours and my follow-up today in 2.5 hours, saying they will get back by Friday. Reddit is making me paranoid that "end of week" means I'm a backup. Given the positive interview signs, am I overreacting?
