I'm a fantasy writer, I love talking to people as it's a part of my job. I'm awesome to talk to and I think I give good feedback, especially with character, motivation, narrative direction. I'm looking for a small group (no more than 20 people) who think similarly and love to talk about what they're working on, and how they intend to do it. If I'm not yapping, I'm a good sounding board as well. I'm not an expert, but I'm adequate and trying to be better than I was the day before.

Genre- any

Goals - yap and exchange ideas and help with direction and development. Ideally to talk over voice and organize sprints

Experience- a few years on and off and now a few months consistently. Amateur hobbyist(?)

Meeting place - discord server/groupchat/ actual phone conversations. Just anything where I can talk to one or more people.

Number of people- less than 20.

Literally. What are they? How do they manifest? What brings about a remembrance? Are they made by the people's memory? If so how does Astel get a remembrance? How do they get converted into items and weapons by the finger readers?

This might be a little bit of a schizo rant, but I can't shake the idea that the finger slayer blade was fashioned from the body of the Gloam Eyed Queen in the same way that Radagon's body is made into the Sacred Order Sword. I say that because I believe that we know that the GEQ was in fact, head of the order prior to Merika taking control of the Elden Ring.

The finger slayer blade shares, not just the same structure as the sacred order blade, but the same double helix pattern in the blade itself, meaning that it was likely fashioned of two beings that were one who were also enlightened/godly. The GEQ has always been a mysterious figure, but is heavily connected to the primordial serpent similar to Mesmer. Merika likely sealed him away due to that connection.

Here's where this line of thought gets interesting. Metyr and Rani.

One of the recent videos I've seen proposes that Ymir's special hat that he wears, has a hole in the front of it as a representation of the Greater Will itself. Similar to the orb that Metyr channels gravity magic through, almost like a black hole that it uses to transport itself elsewhere in the cosmos after you defeat it.

If his crown is meant to represent the same black hole as Metyr, then it brings me to draw a parallel to Rani, and her dark moon, being of occult mystery as per the item description. My thought is that Rani's dark moon which originates from her mother, was fashioned from the aspect of Metyr's cosmic orb after the finger slayer blade was used to hurt it. This very action could be what started Renala on her obsession with children, as that aspect of Metyr likely never left her. Much like Metyr, Renala had a fundamental part of her that is broken, leaving her with ungainly heirs after their original children Metyr with her instances of two fingers, and Renalla with Rani, Rena, and Rellana.

This gives motive to Rani's obsession with "killing a god. " and freeing the world from the influence of the greater Will/the two Fingers as Rani likely saw Renala's mental decline as her death in a war against the progenitor of the two fingers. This would also explain why Renala is kept in the chamber atop Raya Lucaria, and Rani's illusion is kept over Renala. (Another thematic parallel is that Renala is, like Metyr, the only other remembrance that is not killed upon their defeat.) Essentially, the two fingers were but a starting point for Rani, as after her cold night would be woven into being, she would have the power necessary to make an attempt against Metyr herself, with the aid of the divested spirit of the GEQ that manifested in Melina in one of the endings, much like Rani's body is a doll, especially considering the fact that Melina is more akin to a spirit, and may not be a living person as we know it.

I know there's a lot of assumptions made here, but something just feels off about the GEQ, Metyr, and now the parallels I can't help but draw from Metyr and Renalla on a thematic level.
