Driving across the Mackinac Bridge/open bed pick-up truck

Please do not make fun of me - this is a legit question/concern.

The SUV I thought I was going to have for an upcoming trip may not be available and I may have to drive an open bed full size Chevy Silverado in its place.

I have never driven the truck over the Mackinac Bridge. I already do not like to drive over the bridge in my SUV, so having to drive a truck is causing me anxiety.

The truck is full size with a cab and a half plus an open bed. Any tips, suggestions?

Western UP newbie - is this possible in 1 day

Hello. My husband and I will be traveling to the western UP this month. We are early risers, moderate hikers, and do not mind being "gone all day". Is the following doable?

Day 1-2: Ontonagon/Silver City, etc.

  • Bonanza Falls
  • Menabezo Falls
  • Manido Falls
  • Escarpment Trail
  • Presque Isle River Waterfalls Loop Trailhead

We are hoping to spend 1-2 days around this area and then 1-2 days up in the Keweenaw Peninsula.

Day 3-4: Keweenaw Peninsula area:

  • Houghton-Douglass Falls Trail
  • Quincy Mine Tour
  • Possibly a trip to Copper Harbor/Brockway Mountain Drive

I would love suggestions of other trails to hike or waterfalls/scenic things in these general areas.

We visited Pictured Rocks last year and Tahquemenon Falls the year prior so want to stick to the western UP this time around.

Thank you.

Looking for recommendations - solar charger for IPhone 17; for teenager

Like the title briefly states. I am looking for recommendations for a solar charger for a teenager who will be attending a week-long camp (tent camping) so he can charge his Iphone for emergency use as needed. He will not have access to electrical.

Looking for something that will withstand teenager, but not necessarily looking to spend over $40 if possible. I don't trust he'll come home with it!

Waterproof would be ideal. Again - teenager.

Any suggestions?

How do I log this recipe?

I just joined MFP last week. I need help keeping track of calories in the hopes of losing weight.

How would I account in MFP if I ate one of these protein balls.

Overall, the recipe makes roughly 14 1” balls.

Protein Balls with Oats — no baking required!

Ingredients:

1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cup peanut butter (or any nut butter)

1/3 cup honey

1–2 tbsp chia seeds

1 tsp vanilla extract

Free Things To Do for Adults in Rochester MN

Hello! I am hoping to come up with a list of free-ish things to do in Rochester, MN for adults. Not into the bar scene. Would be for a female in her 50s, no kids.

Hoping for things like:

Book Clubs: Silent Book Clubs, monthly Book Clubs, Book Chats, etc.

Hiking: Hiking Clubs or Meet-Ups for Women

Classes or Learn-How-To-Do Make/Something

Open to other suggestions as well. Or if anyone can point me in the direction of a good resource with this information, I would appreciate that as well. Thanks so much.
