TCG for art!

What are your thoughts on using bulk/energies/specific cards for artwork? I for one make 3D shadowbox cards and enjoy bringing the common bulks and some ex cards to life.

I recently saw someone make incredible collages with cut up cards into poster sized canvases as well, and diorama art boxes with little terrariums inside with a card on the front, like looking into a card enclosure.

I also see talented people painting extended art cards from basic, non-full art bulk.

How do you use pokemon cards in your art? Seen any cool pokemon card art that I have not described?

Selling a niche hobby craft?

I have a niche hobby of making 3D shadowbox pokemon cards. I spend many hours cutting, painting, glossing, etching, detailing, and assembling 3D shadowbox pokemon cards. Recently I have started trying to sell them online and have registered for a local card show, but both Etsy and Ebay have revealed that web traffic to my craft and shop listings are abysmal, and I can’t afford to promo stuff for 15% of the revenue. I already know I am way under pricing my works for how much work I put into them, but I also know there are few people that would pay for the amount of work I put into them.

How do I go about getting more online traffic to my craft?

Images are some of the cards I’ve made.

3D card art progression

I started the shadowboxed 3D cards back in Feb of 2026. Over time I have improved tremendously. I just wanted to share some of my art and track my progress with a post.

To answer in advanced: No I’m not selling these online currently. Yes I plan to sell them online eventually, if for no other reason than because they are taking over my house with how many I’ve been making. I’m hoping to go to a local card show with them.

Yes I eventually plan to take commissions outside of local ones. I’ll one day update the post to reflect that. (While abiding by subreddit rules.)
