The rich owe you nothing

This shouldn't be controversial but the world has reached peak levels of jealousy.

I hear people say all the time that the rich need to pay their "fair share", billionaires shouldn't exist, or no one can "honestly earn 1 billion". First of all, being financially illiterate is the main prerequisite to arrive at such conclusions. When I speak of financial illiteracy, I don't say it as an insult. I just genuinely mean it. People who arrive at those conclusions simply don't understand economics. If you even look at the individual lives of people with such belief system, they never achieve anything great in life because their worldview is the biggest stumbling blok to their own success.

Secondly, it's not even true that the rich don't "Pay their fair share". The top 1% pay 40% of total individual income taxes. The top 10% pay 70% of total individual income taxes, while the bottom 50% pay only 3% of federal income taxes.

As far as the "no one can earn a billion dollar", Let me explain to you how a billion dollar is earned with the simplest of examples. If I open 1 restaurant at 1 location and I do well, it makes some profit. I then use that profit to open a second one at a second location and I become a franchise. By the time the 1000th location opens, that's already billions in profit. At what point along the line did that money go from ethical to unethical? There are multiple real life examples of this; it's Chick fila, Panda express, Starbucks, where the founders became billionaires. The founder of Starbucks came from a family so poor his parents were immigrants that never owned a house. Today he is a billionaire due to his successful franchise. That money was earned no one gave it to him and he gets to do whatever he wants with it and it's no one's place to tell him what to do with his money. Even his parents that gave birth to him don't tell him what to do with his money. How much more some complete rando he's never even met.

Is all this even worth it?

I'm on day 1 CPT and I'm worried about new regulations all the time. Particularly the one on duration of status. I have followed all the rules there is to follow and have respected my F-1 status to the T. I was forced to do day 1 CPT after having not been picked in the H-1B lottery. Before anyone comes at me, day 1 CPT is 100% legal.

I know so many people and family members of friends that have gotten green cards and even citizenship after gaming the system in ways I won't even describe here. Some of them have gotten so skilled at gaming the system that they even pull it off during this administration. Meanwhile I'm here suffer even though I follow every rule. I'm starting to question if being upright all this time was even the right move. I know deep down that fraud and dishonesty are against my core values and principles and I am not that type of a person but it hurts me to see that the system is so unfair. I'm on the brings of tears. Worried about what could happen next. To make matters worse, my Indian girlfriend who is also on F1 broke up with me to go with another Indian that is a citizen. I feel absolutely defeated. I'm stuck here in Seattle with no family and feeling so down.
