Three recycled plastic rain barrels just arrived, & I’m about to connect them to my gutter downspouts. I’ve heard that some people keep goldfish in their rain barrels to eat mosquitoes. First, how do I keep them from getting too hot? Secondly, do I need to feed them otherwise? And, lastly, is this a real thing? I want to be able to water my veggies and perennials more sustainably, especially since we’re in a drought where I live.
I was gifted this cutting back in October. Tell me what I’m doing wrong please. Is it too much direct light? Not enough watering? (I rarely water.) Something else?
My long-time partner of almost 7 years, with whom I was in a nesting partnership for the last 2 years of our relationship, and I split last summer. I have a partner of a year and a half and I am very happy with her, but she is in a nested relationship with her long-time partner. I am open to all kinds of connections, but I hope to eventually have a nested relationship again as I really value sharing space and having the day-to-day in-person connection of a nested relationship. Everyone I meet is already in a nested relationship or else they are solo poly.
Like I said, I am open to all kinds of connections in general, but this is one kind of connection I would like to have again. And I have not seen a soul on apps saying they are open to this. Except me. Maybe it’s where I live? Is it like this most places?
I already posted another chest of drawers owned by my great grandparents. My great grandfather was a furniture dealer/salesman in Chattanooga, TN, USA, and I believe this was one of his and his wife’s pieces. I’m prepping for an estate sale, and I’m wondering if anyone can confirm that this is mahogany and late 19th century. What do you think it’s worth? Any other cool details I should highlight?
