Would an encrypted offline/mesh messenger be possible with UWB instead of BLE/wifi direct?

Kind of a shower thought I had, I was wondering if it would be possible at all ? Maybe someone could make a proof of concept app of it, it it is possible at all :o !

Is QubbesOS a good desktop privacy alternative to daily use with GrapheneOS?

Im debating getting into Linux instead of MacOS for my main computer, I already have graphene on my phone. I'm not a political target or anything but i value privacy extremely, a bit more than security. I've read on this subreddit that qubes is hard to daily drive and is more security focused than privacy.

Would it be worth making my daily driver laptop/desktop a qubes os computer (budget is limited so idk about ram for now)? Or another distro would be better for my case ? I heard that secureblue or kinoite or even arch would be easier while still being privacy and somewhat secure conscious ? Is that true ? And if not what do you suggest ! By the way the last time i used linux was around 13 years ago with ubuntu. Thank you for taking the time to read my post. :)

Briar deserve more love and why donating to any FOSS privacy projects is crucial in 2026.

I strongly think and feel that Briar is often overlooked. Yes it's not perfect but with how the internet is becoming more and more locked down I strongly believe that options like it and the Jack Dorsey made Bitchat project are going to become very important. I checked Briar donation page and they only get about 20 euro worth of donation per week...

And with the news that dropped in July that the project is now in maintenance mode and that they almost killed it all (see third image), I feel that its more than ever important to donate to privacy projects like it, or even other projects like graphene os, accressent, molly, session (btw session almost closed too not long ago and is still collecting donations, see second image). Ect....

The more project can thrives the more choice we have as privacy conscious humans. Yes Signal is great, heck I use it everyday as my main messenger but I feel it doesn't do what briar does. Like Bluetooth local chatting.

(To be clear I am not asking for people to empty their saving accounts for privacy projects but I think even 1$ per person can do a lot, and if you can do that i understand as im struggling too financially, so then try to share your privacy conscious mindset to other people!)

PS: LMK if I made any typos as English isn't my main language. 😁

I generated a downloadable HTML website featuring romance and ecchi anime, movies, and visual novels released between 1995 and 2020.

This is the latest version. I still have some ideas and might eventually turn it into a website. It currently contains 249 entries, and some Wikipedia links are broken or incorrect and need manual fixing. I made it with my own recommendations, as well as some from the web. Let me know what you think. :) I used Claude to generate it (yeah, I know, I know, I’m not a fan of AI, but I just wanted to try it out). DM me for the downloadable file.

What is Threema's take on Canada Bill C22?

Since signal and many other privacy focused companies said they would leave Canada if the current government (probably is going to) do make that awful bill into law, I wanted to know if threema will keep threema private working in canada!? I really hope so, and if so will the encryption be protected?

Is there even any good search engines left ?

I have been deeply researching about a search engine that doesn't fingerprints (start page fingerprints its users), isn't pro-israel (duckduckgo has serves there), doesn't have ai (ecosia loves ai despite it killing the environment), isn't owned by a fascist (brave search CEO and cofounder is one and has donated to anti-minorities groups), isn't paid (kagi)...

After a bunch of searching I came to find two or three results that could be good but I need everyone opinions !

I'm debating between Mojeek (UK based), GOOD search (German but uses brave search infrastructure) and Metager (German).

If I didn't mentioned another search engine like qwant or anything else its because I found somewhat some dirt or controversies about it or their owners...

Also searxng is out of the question due to me not having my own network (its a complicated situation that i wont get into sorry).

thank you for taking the time to read my post. :-)

edit:i I realized that there's two good searches! one American and one German. the one I'm talking about in my post is the german one.

Edit 2: I realize mojeek uses ai for its summary section...

edit 3: ill just use 4get
