When people walk out to meet you on "leave at door" orders...

My biggest pet peeve by far. I always assume they are going to report undelivered. It has become so common I have received the "30% of orders missing photo" warning twice... so I stopped hitting "handed to customer" and insist I take a picture.

To any customers who do this thinking you are being kind or helpful, it's really not. If you don't want your food on the ground, please request "hand to me" not "leave at door".

Edit: I am not complaining about people meeting me at their door. I am complaining about people not following their own instructions and walking AWAY from their door to come to me before I get there, specifically when there is no reason to do so (not lost, late or bad weather) and when the instructions say "leave at door".

Did my mom get bamboozled by the MLB Player Alumni Association?

Update: this was actually mailed to us directly from Bob Miller, the oldschool retired player.

In 1998 my mother purchased a Jordan autographed photo via her boss at the time who was a sports nut. She purchased a few high end memorabilia items through him prior to this that were all legit. They worked for a high end resort that often hosted pro teams that came to play in the area, he had some legit connections being the General Manager.

This Jordan was sent to us from the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association. I never once questioned its authenticity until now. A friend said it looked fake. I spent the $20 or whatever to send a photo to Beckett for a cursory review and they said its fake. I agree the signature does look off.

I'm just surprised to get a fake auto from a reputable organization (?).

These are Vitro, right?

The one on the right looks a little bit different. Hard to really see clear seam lines due to the darker colors.

Showing off my Peltiers (& did I ID them correctly?)

These are what I identified as Peltiers from my great grandfather's collection. If I got any wrong, please let me know! I am new to collecting and learning how to ID :)

Lot 1 (from top to bottom):

2x Peltier Ruby Slippers (w/ debris inclusion!)

3x Peltier Green Jewels

3x Peltier Chrismas Trees (?)

Lot 2:

Peltier NLR clear base (really unsure on this one?)

Peltier NLR Geko

Peltier NLR Blue Galaxy (a very strange one/error?)

Peltier Multi Color Swirl

Peltier National Onyx Slag Blue

Peltier National Onyx Slag Black

Peltier National Onyx Slag Green

Lot 3:

Peltier bananas of various colors

Thanks for any help for ID mistakes!

This one stumps me. UV reactive. Pre-1968. Came in lot that was mostly akros, peltiers, masters.

I am having a difficult time identifying any seam or anything.

It also has an interesting large sized air bubble.

Thanks for any help.

Is this an original tin from the 1920s? North Carolina, United States

Inherited through family. Probably originally came from the Widwest, US. Maybe Indiana.

Any clue on this one?

Larger than usual, 3/4ths of an inch. Not a perfect sphere, looks possibly hand made.

Any help with ID on this one? It came from a pre 1970 collection from a german relative.

How God came into my life

I (37m) have been agnostic for my entire life. I never imagined that changing, ever. I have been in and out of recovery and have been going to AA since I was 15 years old.

When I was a teenager the higher power bit was an issue for me. I could neither comprehend nor appreciate it. In my 20s I could appreciate it but still couldn't comprehend it.. but now I think I get it.

The last year of my life was nothing short of a spectacle of human degeneracy. I should be dead, insane, and in prison. I should be all 3 of those things *many* times over, and I don't understand why I am not. Trust me, it wasn't from lack of trying. I was not walking, I was running in the dark looking for that edge to fall off. I truly do not understand why I am not dead, insane, or locked up. And that's where God comes in.

6 months ago, preceding a series of overdoses, I was buying cigarettes from some gas station and the chick behind the counter looked at my ID and randomly says to me, "You know you're protected, right?". I thought she was weird. I didn't understand what she meant until later. I guess my birth date is some significant number in astrology.

Soon after that experience I began overdosing repeatedly. I had several very close calls with the law. I was using absurd amounts of drugs and alcohol and was going in and out of psychosis on a daily basis... but I kept having all these weird synchronicities and coincidences that kept pointing me back towards recovery.

For lack of a better way to describe it, it felt like God was guiding me away from the edge and back into the rooms.

I really don't understand why I am not dead, insane, or in prison. I deserve to be. I was begging for it. And thats where God comes in.

It's a miracle I am not dead. It will also take a miracle to make me sober. So I will just leave it up to that. I will let go and let God do his thing, because I don't have any other options anyways. I am so fucking exhausted.

I still don't understand and probably won't ever. But thats how God works I suppose.
