DMK's obsession with BJP is the reason TVK won in Tamilnadu. Especially post 2024 the anti incumbency against DMK set and the narrative started by Annamalai was amplified by Vijay and TVK. Had DMK focused on their governance record in terms of how much investments they got for the state, how they built SIPCOT for every district and provided a Stable Govt and economic growth and infrastructure and via Nam Mudhalvan scheme how many students got benefited had they focused on it and countered TVK Narrative early on DMK would have won 2026. 2026 was DMK's to lose and clearly they did. TVK was weak even at 2025. The Mishandling of Karur stampede by DMK screwed everything. DMK's narrative that its Delhi vs Tamilnadu is flawed. They're the incumbent. They should have focused their governance. And honestly with the way Governance of TVK has been pathetic and terrible and nothing new, DMK did injustice to Tamilnadu. Whether we like it or not Dravidian parties made Tamilnadu an Industrialized state with 5k dollars per capita income. But sadly with aging leadership and lack of proper utilization of cadre and lack of fresh ideas, Dravidian parties lost. Hope Annamalai or any other future challenger of Vijay realise this and hope TVK is overthrown by 2031 so that Tamilnadu doesnt turn into another Punjab or Bihar. DMK's obsession with a letter pad party in Tamilnadu which has negligible influence led to its downfall.

Would MK Stalin or Kanimozhi have been a better LOP than Udhayanidhi in TN Assembly? Watched some of the speeches of Kanimozhi and not that I have been a fan of DMK but I feel Udhayanidhi looks too clueless as LOP in assembly. Kanimozhi's speeches in Parliament have been articulate and she has been impressive as a Parliamentarian the way she articulated DMK POV at Parliament has been impressive. MK Stalin too has matured a lot as a politican and as a senior pro I feel he would have been more prepared and is a seasoned politician and knows more stuff than his son. At this point I feel as an observer for DMK to counter TVK they need MK Stalin. Vijay I feel prefers Udhayanidhi as his rival coz Udhayanidhi is dumb and arrogant and is a dynast. But then MK Stalin though dynast looks like a statesman and has acumen and experience as a seasoned politician. Vijay wouldn't dare to go after MK Stalin. Or better option would be for Kanimozhi to resign from MP seat and become LOP in TN Assembly. Udhayanidhi must spend more time in the party and work harder and try to learn about real politics like HIS Dad and his aunt. DMK is helping Vijay by keeping joke of Udhayanidhi as LOP. Uttar Pradesh elected Mayawati (a Dalit) as Chief Minister multiple times through BSP. Tamil Nadu has never had a Dalit Chief Minister. What exactly stops Dalit leaders from rising on their own strength and capturing the top post here? Is this the actual face of Dravidian culture strong rhetoric, limited real power transfer?

Most Dalit unions and organisations in Tamil Nadu still function as loyal vote banks and foot soldiers for DMK. TVK under Vijay is one of the few that has started challenging that monopoly to some extent. Why has independent Dalit political assertion remained so weak for decades?

Intercaste marriage rates are among the lowest in Tamil Nadu. Multiple studies and NFHS data have shown states like Uttar Pradesh (and several others) recording higher intercaste marriage percentages than Tamil Nadu. How does that fit with the "most progressive on caste" narrative?

Look at the cabinets of both DMK and AIADMK over the decades. The principal ruling parties have rarely elevated leaders from the poorest Dalit communities into real power centres. Most key ministers and decision-makers continue to come from intermediate and so-called upper castes. The pattern is consistent across governments.

So what's going on? Is the social justice project mainly about consolidating intermediate-caste power under a progressive banner while keeping the lowest castes as reliable vote banks? Or is there a deeper structural reason why Tamil Nadu's politics produces this outcome despite decades of Dravidian rule?

Hey guys recently I have just visited my Instagram and I just realised the level of dogshit the media peddles and the woke lefties are peddling in favour of Sonam Wanghcoke. The man has heavy PR and omg the way my lefties in Insta who barely has zero knowledge all of sudden stands up for a clown like him. I dont even know what is the outrage about? Most of celebrities tier 2 actors and actresses are standing by him and many of my mutuals whom I didnt even realise were political were all of sudden seen supporting him via stories just like how this all eyes on Rafah campaign. Hey guys am I the one who feels India needs more regional Hindutva parties? Like at this point Hindutva has only one torch bearer the BJP. BJP is a National party. They cant for some regional state issue compromise on National interest hence they may some time lose state elections. In that case a regional party like Shiv Sena may help. Maharashtra is lucky in that sense that there are 2 Hindutva parties. Wish Congress NCP Sena UBT and NCP SP collapses and there are only 2 parties in Maharashtra BJP and Shiv Sena as ruling and opposition. Like that for Andhra Pradesh Tamilnadu Kerala and some smaller North Eastern states , Kashmir, Bihar and Jharkhand and many other states we need small regional Hindutva parties. Except Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh which has Hindu Yuva Vahini, Hindu Mahasabha , and several Hindu Organisations. It shouldn't be like Hindu parties dividing each other votes but strengthening local Hindu issues like restoration of small Hindu temples from encroachments, Land jihad, and localised Hindu issues and resisting conversions. While VHP and RSS and Bajrang Dal are doing good job, I feel like there should be more Hindutva based parties and it will also help in establishing Hindutva as the mainstream ideology of India. Lets say what if in Tamilnadu election 2026 DMK alliance swept Assembly polls? Like if MK Stalin won in Kolathur and DMK swept KTCC and TVK managed to win just one or 2 seats in KTCC and across Tamilnadu TVK loses deposit in most seats and Vijay loses in both seats and most ministers of DMK like Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, TRB Raja, PTR, and many DMK ministers retain their seats and DMK loses few seats but retain power and TVK has tally less than 10 and at max 10 to 15 percent vote and ADMK BJP alliance retaining status as primary opposition. How it would have turned out for Tamilnadu? Like would Stalin and Udhayanidhi gone after TVK and Vijay and Bussy Anand? Like what would have happened to Vijay and his entire PR machinery? Would DMK have crushed them? What would have been future of ADMK? I genuinely miss the days where politics wasnt part of life and ppl would just mind their business. After the assembly elections of 2026, the DMK has been decimated to say the least by Vijay and Congress in an opportunistic manner by fighting elections with DMK's money and hardwork of DMK's Cadre and their sweat and blood jumped ship to TVK and formed Govt with them and poached other allies of DMK and kicked out DMK from the INDIA bloc. How can DMK possibly navigate in National politics? They have 22 MPs in Lok Sabha and 10 MPs in Rajya Sabha. Would DMK back the BJP on One Nation One election, Delimitation and women reservation, Uniform Civil Code and in various other bills? Or would they work with Congress and back the Congress? With the way DMK and Congress workers were fighting against each other and both leaders name calling each other and Kanimozhi writing letter to Lok Sabha speaker asking separate seats for DMK and not near Congress, what can realistically happen? My gut feel is except for simultaneous polls for other bills they would either be absent or abstain or walkout. What do you think guys? Would DMK back the BJP or stay with Congress? And what would have happened lets say DMK had they allied with BJP in 2014 instead of Congress? BJP relatively treats their allies better than Congress with the likes of TDP and JDU benefiting from BJP I feel DMK too would have benefited had they allied with BJP in 2014 instead of Congress.

Tamil Nadu has long been one of India's stronger states for manufacturing and electronics. Under previous DMK leadership with Ministers like TRB Raja and Pazhanivel Thiyagarajan, the state reportedly pulled in more investments than Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh at certain points. DMK, despite being vocal critics of the Centre, managed to deliver visible infrastructure such as airport expansions in Trichy and Coimbatore , renovated bus stands across districts, road improvements, metro growth, new electric bus fleets, Hosur as an industrial hub, Coimbatore picking up steam, and leadership in electronics manufacturing.

But now the narrative is shifting. Andhra Pradesh is aggressively grabbing a huge share of proposed investments around 25% nationally in recent data, while TN seems to be losing momentum.

It's only been about 30 days into the new TVK-led setup, but many issues are getting visible

i) Power cuts have reportedly increased amid summer demand.

ii) Law and order concerns are rising.

iii) Construction material prices spiking because quarries are shut down.

iv)Bad press from incidents involving indisciplined cadre

and Investments visibly tilting towards AP.

Kerala's new Congress-led govt released a white paper on the finances after 10 years of CPI(M) rule. Why can't the TVK government do something similar for transparency here? Many temples under the Hindu Religious & Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) board suffer from poor infrastructure and maintenance despite massive land/assets controlled by the department and what concrete steps are being taken?

The Tasmac closures seem half-hearted. Look at it. Many shops shut on paper but still operating or just relocated slightly. Urban infrastructure issues persist, and there's little sign of urgent fixes on core governance deliverables that got TVK voted in.

TVK reminds some of AAP in Punjab: high hopes, populist promises, but early governance slips. Supporters keep whataboutism showing DMK/ADMK failures, but voters rejected the old duopoly precisely because they wanted better. Even an ADMK-BJP govt might have continued many ongoing DMK-era projects with continuity.

Idk what is going to happen but clearly things aren't looking right and this Govt is obsessed with reels over real life governance.

What can CSK realistically do to rebuild this team to ensure they'll dominate like they did till 2023 and consistently qualify for playoffs and win trophies?

Why is Mr K Annamalai being so hated especially amongst the old Right wingers in Tamilnadu? Honestly man I am genuinely feeling so sad for Annamalai. He is a poor farmer's son who worked hard and studied hard and got degrees in IIM and has deep knowledge of economic issues and he genuinely wants to bring about a change to our state and someone who believes in politics at grassroots. Like I feel sorry for him. The kind of internal sabotage which happened in Tamilnadu BJP is just terrible. TN BJP was sabotaged from within those who hated Annamalai so that he or his supporters couldn't be elected and they took money from DMK and ADMK and sabotaged him. Most of them claim he sidelined se for leaders and he uses war room. Boss seriously what is wrong with using a war room? Every political party uses it. DMK has the largest war room in Tamilnadu. It is with that the DMK creates narratives. You gotta break that narrative. Every party has it and what is wrong in that? And genuinely whatever little progress BJP made in Tamilnadu is because of Annamalai. Even in villages if we go if someone asks abt BJP their first name would be Annamalai. He has everything needed to be a good leader. Why cant for hell sake he be backed and given full autonomy? Honestly as long as the old leaders like Tamilisai ,Vanathi Srinivasan ,Nainar, Kalyana Raman, KT Raghavan, Kushbu, and many more must be sacked. Only leaders whom are popular at grassroots must be backed. Annamalai did that. But the old guard and the pseudo intellectuals like Rangaraj Pandey Kolahalas, JVC, and all sorts of clowns totally underestimated Annamalai's efforts. Honestly my respect for TVK and DMK has risen after seeing Annamalai fiasco. DMK has always been open towards experimenting new ideas unlike the TN BJP (Not all BJP state units just the worst State Unit) which stuck in past and didnt want to work hard and just get seats from few dravidian parties. Let Annamalai quit BJP and start his new party and attack this TVK Govt and emerge as a genuine face of opposition. Let the High command of Amit Shah JP Nadda Nitin Nabin realize how they have screwed everything up and BJP will never grow in Tamilnadu and Udhayanidhi Stalin will be cm in 2031 and Vijay in 2036 and Udhayanidhi stalin again in 2041.
