Making friends as an adult!
What is it about being an adult that people think is so hard about making new friends?
Are people just too eager and going about it in all the wrong ways?
People come on these groups and say: “let’s be friends”.
They’re so eager to “make friends” that they miss all the fundamental steps it takes to actually make one.
I have a very close circle of friends, I could count them on one hand, but any one of them would lend me their last £10 if they felt I needed it more.
But to get to that stage took a lot of time, and a lot of trust and mishaps. And being there for each other when the absolute worst things happened.
And I’m just not sure how you build that type of relationship with someone online.
The biggest issue I see is people lacking social skills. And that’s a real problem. But the only way to combat that, and actually meet real people, and have genuine relationships and friendships, is to go out and actually meet people.
So long as you’re an honest person, interesting (subjective), and kind, you will make friends.
No idea where I was going with this post by the way haha
It’s just an observation. Maybe it’ll spark a conversation.
Cheerio!
