How do you handle performing comedy when life is hard?

A little backstory on me. I started taking classes in improv comedy while my sister was battling cancer and also while I was dealing with employment instability. It was a great distraction, kept me from completely falling a part, and provided relief. The laughs I had during that time were so deep and needed. I'm finding myself back in this situation. I found out that my sister's cancer is most likely back (they are confirming it now) and it is looking like I'm going to lose my job any day. How have you navigated performing comedy when life is hard? I think I'm going to need performing comedy in my life, but also want to make sure I give myself grace.

State of dga negotiations?

Anyone know the state of the dga negotiations? I've been following all the union's negotiations closely and I thought dga was supposed to be wrapping up this past Friday. But the last few times I've googled I haven't seen anything.

The Low after the High - post show vibes

Hey Everyone! I love performing improv a lot. It's such an exhilarating art form. I've noticed something though that I'm a little worried about and want to make sure I manage in a healthy way. I'm flying HIGH after a show. I have so much energy and I'm bouncing off the walls. Then sometimes by later that night, definitely by the next day, I experience almost a depressive low. This low is the reason why I think so many performers & artists end up developing unhealthy habits. I find playing the piano helps me, but I'm curious what some of the rest of you do to reset in a healthy way?

Hey! So running into issues finding a new upholstery adhesive. It feels like a lot of products are getting discontinued, because of chemical regulations or something like that? What are you guys using or what should I look into?
