Strathberry Tote vs Demellier Hudson
Desperately need helping choosing new black tote for. 1 = Strathberry Large Tote, 2 = DeMellier Hudson. This is after wiggling down from like 6 other options and coming to two pretty structured large totes.
1- Strathberry (I’d shorten the shoulder strap if I keep it):
Pros: More structured, leather look is my preference, gold hardware pops more in person, fits a laptop better (not a huge factor for me though on the daily), lovely cream suede lining inside makes it easy to see inside your bag, and reviews consistently say the craftsmanship is excellent, so it should hold up and have better resale value so I feel it’s more worth the price.
Cons: The bar closure is a little less convenient, and because of the structure it’s actually less roomy than it looks.
2: Demellier Hudson
Pros: Better proportions on my short frame, easier to get in and out of, and durable pebbled leather. I think maybe I like the design better if not the leather and feel? Despite looking smaller, it holds about as much as #1 if not more (just not as well for a wider laptop).
Cons: Black fabric inner lining makes it harder to find things and feels less luxurious for the price. Do I care about the inside though? Craftsmanship seems very good, just not reviewed as highly as Strathberry. Cross body strap is thinner (less comfy) and the leather seems a bit more prone to shape not staying in the perfect structure when compared to the the other bag (has more bend).
What do you guys think? Preferences on look? Petite frame and issue? Anyone have experience with either brand or bag? Ty!
