Hi all. I want to lower my stem by removing some spacers, however this will put my stem bolts below the headset expander plug.

I've checked the service manuals and it says that you can have up to a maximum of 40mm of spacers above or below the stem, but doesn't say that you need to move the headset expansion plug.

My question is:

Can I move 25mm of spacer above the stem without fear of the stem bolts crushing the carbon steerer tube?

Any advice, especially from those that have done this to their bike would be greatly appreciated
