Help with terrain gen for C#

I am making a game that will be pretty similar to terraria and was wondering what kind of algorithms I can use to accomplish this

I already have a link (will be in comments) but it seems to be for a different language so I don't really get what is going on

If someone can explain how to do this, or even get a similar document for C# that would be extremely helpful as I have no clue where to even start

Or maybe I am just not reading the link properly and it is actually everything I need lol

Btw I'm using monogame on VS

Terrain Gen with noise algorithms

I am doing an NEA(Coursework) for my A-Level and I'm working on a sandbox game with a layout like Don't Starve (No idea why that specific game came to mind lol) but probably gameplay like Terraria (obviously way less complex)

And I was wondering what kind of terrain gen would be useful with MonoGame on VS, I do want a similar art style to Terraria as well but thought I'd ask if something like Perlin would work or if there is a better alternative since my CS teacher(an ex game dev) said I should use noise algorithms

I cant find what dictates specifically moving to a new line on a trace, some things say when a variable changes but I’ve seen otherwise so what does? I’m wondering since i have an exam coming up soon with a 24 line trace worth 8 marks so any answers would be helpful
